Trouble with American Express Gift Card

I'm trying to place my order, but I keep getting an error message. It asks me to verify that the card information and billing address are correct (they are). I've checked the American Express website and it shows the declined purchase (they don't offer an option to put in a billing address). I've even called the number on the back of the card and the response was unhelpful, giving an automated statement that I should either use the card in person or try another online merchant.
