Took money out of my account but order didn’t go through??

Hi, everyone. I️ attempted to place an order today and received a message that said “error committing the order” and the order was never placed. Everything was removed from my basket and it was like I️ never tried to place the order. I️ always check my account after I️ Place an order, or in this case attempt to place an order and when I️ did I️ was surprised to see that the full amount of the order, almost $200 was taken from my account and is currently in pending status. I’m not sure how this could be considering the order was never even confirmed?!? Has anyone ever had this happen to them and how was the situation resolved? I’ve been having a lot of issues with Sephora lately but nothing likethis and I️ am quite worried. UPDATE: (7 days later) For anyone having a similar issue, I did get the money back in my account. I didn’t have to contact my bank or do anything through them, I just waited 7 days as that’s what a Sephora employee I spoke with on the phone told me to do. 7 Days seems like a long time to hold my money for an order that never went through/wasn’t confirmed. After much research I discovered that this issue occurred because one of the things in my order was a SKU that no longer existed on the website (Sephora favorites mascara set). Seems like a glitch that 1. Sephora let me order something that didn’t exist on the site and 2. My whole order didn’t go through because of it, yet the money was taken out of my account. Doesn’t make a lot of senseand now I am going to be careful to not order anything that says “only a few left” as this is just one of the issues I’ve had trying to do so. (I’ve also had orders canceled because of this.) sephora keep better track of your inventory!

I'm sorry! It sounds like you're seeing a pending authorization, and this should reverse automatically within 5-7 business days (or sooner) depending in your financial institution. Please note that charges are not settled until orders ship out, and the pending authorization will reverse. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
