Sephora Gift Card Fraud

I purchased a gift card recently for my baby sister of $100 and when she went to go use it, the gift card Had a zero balance. I contacted customer support to confirm the balance of the card they were able to tell me the days and the time that the card was used and the fact that it was also used online, but coincidentally could not tell me who used the gift card. I was transferred back-and-forth between the Sephora gift card customer service, and the, regular Sephora gift card service. Nobody was able to give me any information as far as what account used the gift card. I donโ€™t understand. Sephora has no way of checking their online transactions to see which account these purchases were tied to when these purchases were made online, they are not anonymous purchases. There is no way that it is impossible to trace a very traceable transaction if it was made online. The fact that Sephora could not even assist me as to who actually used the card that I spent $100 on frustrating because the card was used online. Online purchases are traceable. Even if this was a guest account they still would have to provide some kind of information in order to make this purchase. There is no way that I could be told the date, the time and the amount of the purchases made with the gift card, but I was not able to get the information on the account holder, whose account is tied to these purchases. I have no proof to show my bank that these purchases were not made by myself or the recipient. Because these purchases were made online, I checked my little sisters account because I have access to it and saw that she had no recent purchase history. Iโ€™ve already seen over dozen posts on here extremely similar to mine in which people are experiencing the same exact thing, They buy a Sephora gift card. Try to use it only to be told that has zero balance and that it was used online, but couldnโ€™t even be told who used it. and getting the same exact result from Sephora and I donโ€™t understand the lack of customer support given when people are spending their money on Sephora products and gift cards.

This just happened to me! I ordered a $200 e-gift card for my friendโ€™s daughter, and she went to use it yesterday and it showed a 0 balance!

she spent 20+ minutes on the phone with support to get absolutely nowhere, and I just called and got nowhere! 
Iโ€™m waiting for a supervisor to call me back in the next 48 hours. 
What bothers me is that the paying customer gets ALL of the inconvenience in this situation, they should either figure out the issue themselves or at the very least offer some sort of compensation for the hassle!

Regardless of the outcome with all of this, I know for sure I wonโ€™t ever be buying a Sephora gift card again! And potentially I wonโ€™t even be a Sephora customer again.
