Samples no longer offered?

Sephora used to offer 3 free samples with orders, then they cut it to 2. Now there’s not even an option to pick any samples at all. There have been NO samples shown for my last two orders. The first time, I thought it was some kind of website glitch, but maybe it’s a new policy. I became a regular customer for a number of products I tried via the small samples, and I think discontinuing them is very shortsighted.

Honestly, I hardly ever got my samples. Was really frustrating.

Yep. It’s real sad that even paper samples are being taken way from us. I blame it on the universal free shipping. When the feature was just free shipping for Rouge members, the samples were nine minis and now are cardboard with a lick of product and seldom some perfume vials. Meanwhile the prices of everything in their store keeps going up. Very depressing.

Just ordered this week and no button for mine either. There was no pop up above either.  Just nothing. I did look and I had to go to rewards link to use some of my points but I had to find it and some of the ones advertised were not actually there when you tried to add them it wouldn't add and when you clicked them to see what they were it took you to something else on a couple of them.  It was quite maddening that and I was like maybe it is the website.  Seeing this has been going on for some weeks from you all maybe I am thinking otherwise now.  Maybe Sephora is turning more corporate than we like. So what's next the return policy axed? That's my before coffee rant as I feel I'm owed some samples in my life.

I came on here wondering the same thing and after reading the comments, lo and behold I found it in an area towards the bottom right (on desktop) where it is super easy to miss. That's shady.

I agree. They hid all the free sample & rewards bazaar. Practically all the beauty insiders benefits. 😡

Today I have no option for samples, promo offers or points bizarre. Just nothing 😞

@Alloo You should have the option to add samples and rewards to your basket on the first page of checkout! If you're on the app, you'll need to scroll down to the bottom to where it says "Beauty Insider Benefits". There, you can select your samples and rewards. 

 

On desktop, you should have the option to add samples and rewards under the same section but on the right side of the page. Thanks!

Agree.  The reason I religiously ordered from Sephora  was for the samples so I could try new products.  Without that perk, I no longer feel loyal and will just as likely order from Nordstrom or Blue Mercury, etc.

I agree, I do not see sample options on the phone or my desktop. Without samples, I would hesitate to buy many products, not sure what Sephora is playing at.

I had this issue too, on mobile. the “Get 2 samples with every order” link was completely gone, and the “view featured offers” link only took me to the Offers tab.

 

I tried on desktop and it was there! It seems like a weird way to decrease the amount of samples they have to send out. But in any case if you’re having this issue on mobile, try desktop!

They're tricky... they've hidden it and now its directly under where it says "Add Rewards Bazaar Items" and just before where the promo code would be entered, in VERY small writing in a light blue color says "View featured items" once you click on that a page pops up where you can select your free samples. 

 

Hope that helps! Very sneaky on Sephora's part. Guess they're tired of everyone adding samples LOL "Merica" "Capitalism" It's a funny thing...

That's not the same. I click on the link and it only offer the gift that will give you with x amount of purchase (usually $45 or more). Which had been offered as always, just hidden away. The 2 free sample option used to be on the top still could not be found.

 

nvm, after using the browser search (ctrl+F) of the key words 'add up to 2 free samples', then I'm able to see the option.

 

But I do think this change still is a pull back from giving out free samples. Like, they will give you the sample if you find the link, but if you do not find it, you will not have any extra gifts. I feel like this is a way they are testing the customers loyalty. Or a way to cut the spend, I guess.

No way! I literally contacted customer service via chat and asked where the sample button was and they said they were probably currently out of samples for my region.

Same. I was about to place an order but there are no free samples offered. I always love picking them out and honestly, a lot of times its what makes me purchase here instead of your competitor. Also, I sometimes discover something I love and start purchasing the full size items

@kc12345kc Sorry for the confusion! On the first page of checkout on the app, you'll need to scroll down toward the bottom! You should see a tab that says "add up to 2 free samples".

 

On the first page of checkout on desktop, toward the bottom right you'll see a tab that also says "add up to 2 free samples".

I'm not seeing the option to select any free samples either - not in the app or on the website- is this a new change?
