Receipt for Returns?

I tried to exchange something yesterday at Sephora at Kohl’s.

the beauty advisor said that I needed the receipt to be able to return the products, I have been able to exchange and return with just my number but she said the policy had just changed.
To the regular Sephora stores they’ve been mentioning that the policy is changing and that it will be 30 now, which is fine but nobody told me I had to kept all my receipts to be able to do it. I’m a frequent costumer and a personal shopper and I don’t have all the receipts of everything I purchase or anything from the Sephora sale which was just a week ago. I have proof of purchase on my account but not the barcodes and they told me I did it need them just a few days ago when I went to buy and now there’s nothing to do.

Ive never felt bad costumer experience in any of the stores but last night it was abysmal!

Sephora merchandise purchases through Kohls.com or Sephora at Kohl's locations must be returned in new or gently used condition with a receipt within 60 days of purchase.

Effective 4/24/25, Sephora merchandise purchases through Kohls.com or Sephora at Kohl's locations must be returned in new or gently used condition with a receipt within 30 days of purchase.

Returns without a receipt will not be accepted. Sephora products that are marked as final sale cannot be returned.
