ROUGE STATUS AVAIL for 2 years upon $1000 spend in a calendar year. DOES THE CALENDER RESET?

Hello! 

I'm trying to understand how this works. I hit rouge status at the end of 22, giving me guaranteed rouge through 2024. However, I also spend $1000+ in 2023, so shouldn't my rouge status also be extended another year (or even 2??)

Your year-to-date spend will reset to $0 every January 1st. As you spent over $1000 in 2023, your status will remain Rouge until the end of 2024. However, in order to extend your status through 2025, an additional $1000 must be spent in 2024. In order to maintain your status every year, $1000 must be spent every calendar year. I hope this clarifies!
