Online Return Taking Over A Month? Still Not Received

I returned items ordered from Sephora.com by dropping off at USPS on 8/4.  As of today, the last order status is on 8/7 and says “Picked Up and Processed by Agent.”  What does this even mean?  What is the status of my return?  Are the items lost?  It’s now 9/15, over a month!  Someone please help. It was a significant number of items and I’d like my card credited. I don’t know what to do.
