Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

During the winter, I typically use the 45 Neutral (light beige with neutral undertone) and the color is pretty spot on.  Now that it's summer, I'm needing a slightly darker shade.  I tried the 53 Neutral (medium beige with neutral undertone) but it is too dark. Any suggestions on a shade that would work better, something in between 45N and 53N?  I have more of a yellow undertone. Thanks!

Hi ddvez,

If you're having trouble finding an exact match but still love the KVD formula, I would recommend adding a drop or two of the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops into your winter shade!

Does anyone know if Light 48N is darker than 45N? It's hard to tell by the color swatches.

Re: Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

Typically with tanning, your skin only changes on a 2-5 level range (unless you do extreme tanning or a fake tan). Stay closer to your natural colour for best results. If you have a yellow undertone try a more yellow foundation. I suggest going no higher then a 50N but try 47N first.

Re: Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

Thank you for your help! I wasn't quite sure how the numbering system works and the color swatches didn't seem to help much. Do you know what is meant on 47N by having a cool undertone? Don't have a Sephora in my town so it's hard to check colors.

Re: Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

And you're right, I don't have a big change with the tanning color, very minimal. Thanks again.
