Having difficulty redeeming my birthday gift for points

Hi,

I live 45 minutes from the nearest "real" sephora. I want to redeem the birthday reward for the 250 points. I am *not* going to frivolously spend $25 just to get points added to my account.

Several days ago, online chat said Sephora in Kohls could add the points. Today, I went in store and Kohls told me no. I online chatted again, and was basically told I'm SOL on the points without making a purchase/driving 45 minutes. Can someone assist?

You will be able to redeem your gift online or in-store during your entire birthday month, or within 2 weeks of your birthday. You can verify my zip code - there are no Sephoras near me.

You can check my birthday history - I have been redeeming my birthday gift for points for several years.

I am not trying to scam the birthday gift to sell online - I just want points. 

It's really pathetic that even as Rouge with a verified track record, something as simple as points are a hill for Sephora to die on. Points are thrown around all the time as "I'm sorry" tokens when orders get messed up, I can't believe that just adding 250 points to my account is going to be held to the same standard as redeeming for a physical gift. It's not like I can sell my points on eBay.
