Gift card fraud

My husband bought me a 250$ gift card with a gift card he earned as part of his bonus. He worked a 12 hour shift and came home to give it to me only to find out 2 hours after he bought it was used. I called support and they just told me sorry it’s not their problem they don’t manage gift cards. I asked for an escalation team and said they can try and call me back. I said can you call the store and alert them and basically told me no that it’s common and there’s nothing they can do just be more cautious and aware. Really !?!?!?! How can we be more cautious if it’s this common stop selling physical cards and move to E cards instead. Card was bought 12/6/24 at 1pm and by 4 the card was empty. I asked for the location it was used and simply did everything not to help. 
please be aware hopefully they get back to me and help

WOW lo and behold, sounds like Sephora has some gift card scamming going on.  I gave my daughter a gift card I purchased.  100 dollars was activated on it and she just TODAY scratched the number and the PIN number .  The sales associate told her she had a ZERO balance.  I called the gift card help place and they told me it was used online in CANADA  in the month of Jan.  Basically told me there's nothing they can do and Im out of luck unless my credit card institution will do something.

Same issue here.. bought the sphora card $150. A day later all funds gone.. swphora is no help.  Even cashier at location said this is a common issue. Card never opened or scratched,  until I got ro rhw cashier who did it himself.

This just happened to me as well. I received a purchased GIFTcard for my birthday bought 10/20/24 and Sephora says balance was used 10/28/24 ONLINE. Its impossible. I keep my gift cards in the same box until im ready to treat myself. In this case im pregnant, very dry, and feeling washed out. I searched t=for moisturizer and I have a hand full of sampled lip colors just to get to the register and not get them. I literally tore open the gift card packaging and handed the gift card to the employee to swipe. it needed to be scratched, the employee borrowed my coin to scratch it, no balance. I have the gift card receipt in hand. all of my research the cards are used within a week or so time.. SO SKETCHY. im so upset!!! I never go here cause I don't splurge and I won't be going back until they fix their issue, it looks like its been going on years, they're well known about it, and they don't care to fix..
