Defective Tatcha water cream reward

Hey Beauty Insiders, So frustrated that when I tried to open my 100 point reward which was the Tatcha water cream, it was defective. No one had been able to open it and I even tried using pliers. Is this some kind of joke Sephora? Very upset...

I just recieved my Routine Refresher from the rewards bazaar and I'm having the same issue with the Water Cream mini. Neither me nor my husband can get it open. Help!
