Alllll of my points are gone??!??

I found out trying to buy a bunch of perfumes & hair products in a store that my points & I am devastated :(((((((  The normally amazing, wonderful staff, whom I feel like we’re besties every time I walk in, had 0 interest in helping. Maybe they can’t, to give benefit of the doubt, but I had points for YEARSSS that suddenly were gone due to “inactive… something” … (which isnt even true!! It’s since I moved to a city that has a bunch of Sephoras now (my former small town didn’t), I have been buying things in-store instead of online, but always had a problem since I changed my phone number & tried to update my account after some email online breach—so instead of hold up the line I’d just tell myself I’d somehow get it  added to account somehow later if I needed to.)
How can they do this without warning to a loyal customer who has spent thousand$$$ over the years? My heart is broken, & I simultaneously feel so betrayed—but also like I’ve been robbed outright by someone I’d wholeheartedly trusted.
