Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer vs Tatcha Silk Canvas (liquid or balm

I am almost out of my Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. I have really enjoyed it. I am 37, noticing a few fine lines mainly between my eyebrows and forehead, and I want to make my face look as smooth and blurred as possible. I have normal to dry skin. I have heard good things about the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primers. Should I switch to one of the Tatcha primers or stick with Hourglass? Or do you recommend a different primer?

I do recommend the Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer 1.0 oz / 30 mL  it mak's the eye shadows, blush, and contour brighter and more colorful.

Re: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer vs Tatcha Silk Canvas (liquid or balm

I have previously used HG and liked it a lot, but I recently bought the Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas and LOVE it. I have finally seen what it's like for a primer to keep the makeup from seeping into your skin. I haven't tried the balm, but I can say the liquid is amazing. I am 33 and have some fine lines/wrinkles and dry, acne prone skin. It's hydrating without being greasy and does not break me out. It also has a slight (and I mean like the smallest bit) of stick to it, which is another reason I prefer it to the HG, as it really helps keep a barrier between my skin and products. I also notice blurring, which I have never gotten from a primer before. Sephora has a code right now to get a 7 day trial of the Liquid Silk with a $35 order, so that might be a good way to give it a try!

i bought HG a little while back and just recently purchased the Tatcha silk canvas liquid and i think i prefer it over the HG. I also purchased both in TS since makeup days are fewer this year it seems. I figured it would give me enough product to determine which i prefer to buy in FS by the fall sale. The tatcha seems more blurring and works better under even something matte like EL doublewear and has better grip. i also like the texture better, the HG is a little slippy lol.

@mrsw09 if it works for you I wouldn't change it.  If you want you can try to get a sample in store.  I have used both Tatcha primers but stick with Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer Blur Primer Gold

Thanks for the response. I do enjoy the Hourglass but Its always fun to try something new. I have considered the YSL primer. Does it blur and minimize fine lines well?
