What are the best ingredients to look for in your products

What are the best ingredients to look for in your products

Re: What are the best ingredients to look for in your products

It depends on what specific benefits you are looking for, as far as a product goes...

For example; Hyaluronic Acid, is a MUST for any anti-aging product. You must check the ingredients list for “Sodium Hyaluronate” which is Hyaluronic Acid in a skin penetrative form. Hyaluronic Acid creates a moisture barrier for aging skin, which in turn helps skin's elasticity, which decreases with age, and also locks moisture in, to keep aging skin plump, moisturized, and supple.

But that is just one of many ingredients to look for in a product. It really just depends what specific skin benefit you’re looking for, and what you are wanting to achieve with a product, because if you struggle with acne, some anti-aging ingredients found in anti-aging serums, lotions, etc. can actually make acne worse, and a lot of acne remedies on the market, aren’t good for aging skin, because certain ingredients can “suck” the moisture out of your skin. See where I’m going with this?

A few ingredients to stay away from, no matter what the product, is alcohol, which will damage your skin no matter what skin type you happen to be, and fragrance, which can irritate normal to sensitive skin. Also note that if you are using a silicone based serum/lotion/primer before makeup application, then you cannot use a water based foundation over it, because the water based foundation/tinted moisturizer/bb cream/etc. will slide right off of your skin.

But those are just a few tips in the world of great skin, and 'must have' ingredients! Hope this helps, and feel free to ask me anything!
