The Danessa Myricks Beauty Thread

Unless I’m mistaken, we don’t yet have a thread dedicated to this amazing brand and Founder/CEO, Danessa Myricks. She launched her line at Sephora in February 2021. I have been so impressed with everything I’ve tried from her brand! I have been following her on Instagram for many years prior to that and was so excited for her to come to my favorite beauty retailer, Sephora. As a makeup artist, she always seems so genuine, warm and positive, and her line was founded on inclusivity and creativity.

On her website, she has instructional videos, some free and some for subscribers or purchase. She does incredible looks with color, but I’ve always been impressed with her complexion looks on all skin colors, tones, and textures. I started following her when I was working part time as a makeup artist at Sephora and I wanted to become more familiar with makeup colors on darker skin tones.

My first purchases from her line were the Colorfix pigments, which can be used anywhere, can be mixed together, and are incredibly versatile. They come in mattes and shimmers/foils in a massive range of colors. Most recently I have absolutely fallen in love with herDanessa Myricks Beauty Lightwork Vol. IV: Transcendence Palette - Illuminating Eye & Face Pigments . It is a phenomenally stunning palette with shades that are guaranteed to turn heads!

Even though I’ve even on a foundation no buy, I couldn’t resist her Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Serum Foundationand Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Glow Serum with Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide .

That’s a wonderful box and I love seeing your beautiful collection, @sister13! I used to travel to Colorado for work and yes, products like to squirt out there more than back East! I think it happens during the pressure change during shipping.

Thanks and thanks for validating! I had stored these with the cap/tip UP for a while, but still had that product shooting out. Same happened with a glossier cloud paint recently that actually stained my rug, I’m so mad about it. @curlychiquita

Congratulations, @sister13 !  The pic is so pretty with all the colors.  Looking forward to your swatches.  Is there a particular color you would recommend for eyebrows?  For example, my best matches are

I’ll double check the color I have, there’s one that works well and I sometimes go up to the soft browns for my brows but i think the Colorfix I like leans taupe. I’ll let you know and try to remember to get a swatch!! @Titian06

Wow! This is incredible. What a gorgeous box there is such a beautiful array of shades here! I love your idea to put them in the lipstick holder they look splendid. I wanted to share a swatch and picture of Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment - Nudes Collection Nude 1 (described as cool ivory matte) as I feel the product photography is a little off on this one making it appear lighter and cooler than described. Here are my own unfiltered pictures and in my mind this shade is far deeper, warmer and peachy then pictured:

This has been the perfect eyelid base for me to help mask red discoloration on my lids. The trick I have found is a little goes a loooong way. For use as an eye base I'm dividing about a pinpoint drop and using half on each eye and getting good, long wearing coverage that does not crease if set with powder. If I use it as a eye base alone I couldn't be happier. It will be fun to see how it works with other products to adjust foundation shades as needed or even get to know how it mixes with moisturizer or acts as a concealer.

Would love to see pics of any other shades people may have purchased in the nudes collection or hear how you're using it...

OOh, nice to see and hear your thoughts and how you use it as an eyeshadow base. I don't think I have this one, though I have a bunch of these I've been meaning to post some swatches and pics - maybe this week/weekend. These were the first product I ever bought from DMB! @PDXXXX

@sister13 I'd love to see any swatches of what you have or application tips. This seems like such a versatile product but a little intimidating as well as someone not used to the intensity of the colors. I'm looking forward to hearing how others are using it and learning more.

@Titian06 too funny - I ordered it online hoping it would be warmer and a little peachy as well so I'm glad the swatch helped. Tag me if you get it and post anything if you remember - I'm really curious about different ways this shade could be used!

Danessa Myricks Beauty LIGHTWORK VI The Freedom Palette: Magnetic, Customizable, Stackable Palette w... 

I love it! I love the stackable nature of these, and the little face/name plate is also a mirror. Several of the shades are really sparkly, which I love. I got nice long wear from the first trial I did, with no primer, so that’s awesome. I also love that many of the multi chromes are not green shifts, there’s a lot of pink, purple and teal. It’s versatile since you can also use several of the shades for blush and highlight (if you like a sparkly highlight). I don’t mind green shifts but sometimes they’re too prevalent. Overall, it’s definitely a bit pricey but gorgeous and worth it! I wore this on eyes and highlight at SEPHORiA and I got so many compliments all day. I am a Sephora Community Ambassador and I purchased this item on my own and this is my honest review.
