The Danessa Myricks Beauty Thread

Unless I’m mistaken, we don’t yet have a thread dedicated to this amazing brand and Founder/CEO, Danessa Myricks. She launched her line at Sephora in February 2021. I have been so impressed with everything I’ve tried from her brand! I have been following her on Instagram for many years prior to that and was so excited for her to come to my favorite beauty retailer, Sephora. As a makeup artist, she always seems so genuine, warm and positive, and her line was founded on inclusivity and creativity.

On her website, she has instructional videos, some free and some for subscribers or purchase. She does incredible looks with color, but I’ve always been impressed with her complexion looks on all skin colors, tones, and textures. I started following her when I was working part time as a makeup artist at Sephora and I wanted to become more familiar with makeup colors on darker skin tones.

My first purchases from her line were the Colorfix pigments, which can be used anywhere, can be mixed together, and are incredibly versatile. They come in mattes and shimmers/foils in a massive range of colors. Most recently I have absolutely fallen in love with herDanessa Myricks Beauty Lightwork Vol. IV: Transcendence Palette - Illuminating Eye & Face Pigments . It is a phenomenally stunning palette with shades that are guaranteed to turn heads!

Even though I’ve even on a foundation no buy, I couldn’t resist her Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Serum Foundationand Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Glow Serum with Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide .

It's stunning! @sister13 What were your initial thoughts and first impressions?

I love it! I love the stackable nature of these, and the little face plate is also a mirror. Several of the shades are really sparkly, which I love. I got nice long wear from the first trial I did, with no primer, so that’s awesome. I also love that many/most  of the multi chromes are not green shifts. There are greens and I don’t mind green shifts but sometimes they’re too prevalent! Overall, it’s definitely a bit pricey but gorgeous! @CynthieLu

I am more excited for the portability aspect than the color story, the fact that you can travel with a specific set is pretty cool @sister13

Updates on the Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Lift & Flex Hydrating Concealer With Hyaluronic Acid & Caffeine 6  (and 5)! 

#6 is actually the perfect brightening shade for me for summer - 5 is great but just slightly light with my summer color. I actually watched some of Danessa‘s social videos about this and she sent the additional colors to be definitely designed to use as bronzers and to be able to use multiple shades on the face as needed to highlight, contour and accentuate skin. 7 and 8 are definitely warmer and can be used on areas of the face for a little bit of bronzey coverage/contour. 

After using for a couple weeks, I‘m really happy with these - the coverage stays on - for me, a lot of concealers just fade away/disappear within a couple hours, and this one is lasting at least 6-8 hours on me, where I can feel the hydrating texture and see the coverage is still covering.

I was so fortunate to receive a box with 4 shades of the Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Lift & Flex Hydrating Concealer With Hyaluronic Acid & Caffeine 5 - I received 5,6,7 and 8. This was after purchasing #5 and thinking I should go up a shade for summer. I think 7 *may* be slightly yellow for me when I’m ONLY using concealer and no other complexion color, but only if you were really examining my face up super close. Otherwise, it blends beautifully, and does remain noticeably hydrated which I need in this dry climate. I have really enjoyed the brush. It’s super soft and blends but doesn’t absorb the product. Thanks to Danessa Myricks Beauty for another winner in the Yummy Skin Line.

5, 6, 7, 8 - blended out. These lasted overnight pretty vividly on my arm.

Congratulations, @sister13 ! 🥳  No. 5 looks almost perfect.  No. 8 looks like it would make a good contour or light bronzer.  I'm sure you can find some way to use these lovely colors. 🙂

Thank you! Yes, #6 actually looks perfect and 5 is great for more brightening! She actually recommends and designed them for use in multi-colors for highlight/contour/bronzing, and they work really nicely together for all that!  @Titian06
