Dry, unruly hair, please help!

I know absolutely nothing when it comes to hair, my hair’s always in a bun or a pony tail. I have naturally dark almost black hair, and around 6 months ago I bleached it to give it a bit of life. I’ve always had frizzy hair but after colouring it, it gradually got worse. So my hair stylist recommended I dye it brown again to give it strength, and surprise surprise my hair is still breaking at the top because it’s so damaged. Please recommend a product that’s going to help me I’ve tried so many things and nothing’s working!

Dry, unruly hair, please help!

Olaplex! it will transform your hair

Re: Dry, unruly hair, please help!

@Keekbeauty I rec a sulfate-free shampoo, like Pureology Hydrate; it was just named an Allure Customer Choice winner for 2017.  I also rec Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm.

For styling products, a silicone serum can be helpful in making your hair appear sleeker and smoother.  I like Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.  I also use Phytodefrisant for a little extra slip for my hair as I blow dry with a brush.  It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product really does work wonders, so I would definitely give that a go.

Before I leave the house, I also make sure to use Living Proof Humidity Shield.  It helps!

Hair oils are also very important.  My fave just got discontinued, but there are plenty of good ones out there.  Remember that you can use them as a treatment, in with conditioner, as a styling product, or on dry hair (my fave).

It's also important to wash your hair as little as possible, so give dry shampoo a go.  I love Klorane (the non-aerosol version).

And a couple good tips: use a wide toothed comb, and avoid traditional towels (either squeeze the water out of your hair, or use a microfiber towel or even a cotton T-shirt).

Best of luck!  🙂

@Keekbeauty, all of the products that @Kim888 link to below will work.  I want to recommend sleeping in your conditioner overnight.  I shampoo, then put my conditioner on wet hair, then put on a shower cap.  Then I go to sleep.  In the morning I rinse out my conditioner and style.  This really makes a huge difference in my dry, fizzy, curly hair.

Re: Dry, unruly hair, please help!

@Keekbeauty I suggest checking out the brands Brigeo and Olaplex. Nothing is going to work amazing miracles other than letting your hair grow out but I've found the masks from both of those brands have really helped my dry frizzy hair and I have really found the briogeo leave in conditioner to help with smoothing! Make sure to get it trimmed regularly to prevent further breakage and try to avoid using a lot of heated products (the bastiste divine dark dry shampoo is great since it's already tinted so no white cast).
