Hi All,
Hoping people would be interested in this.
I want to work out regularly and have a group of people who can keep each other accountable, just do daily check IN’s. I keep falling off the routine and then get into inertia and then it takes few weeks to couple of months to start back up. I am still not fully recovered after last years health issues and excercising is imperative to my health and everyone’s health.
Please let me know your ideas !! We can structure it how everyone wants it.
I was thinking a check in and any tips people have, every day. This is the social group I interact most with and love the company of you kind and fun ladies.
Also let me know if we need to move this thread in any other group.
Some tips I learned for athletic/ athleisure clothes - I used buying new workout clothes as my motivation incentive for being consistent for 1 months rather than any food incentive. Used points to convert to gift cards and then bought 2 sets during sales. Before this I just had 1 legging and 2 Costco shirt. I didn't want to spend any money till I convinced myself that I would consistently use the clothes. Now I do so did some shopping 🙂
Leggings (criteria not rolling down on tummy fat, not needed to be pulled up a lot during the workout) -
Shirts -
How to take care of your workout clothes - I learnt about these recently. I always bought workout clothes from clearance racks in the past so used to just wash with regular clothes in normal cycle. That can cause them to fade soon. If investing in pricier/ better clothes, better take care of these 🙂

@naturalooks15 Thanks for the reminder to keep us all on the wagon! I'll post an update, hope you had a great 4th!
@naturalooks15 I’ve been living that knee brace life lately, so I haven’t been as active as I’d like. ☹️ I’ve spent most of my time RICEing my knee lately. Hope everyone else has been more active than me!
Thanks @PrettyPaint @naturalooks15
Story moral: when your bad knee says “low impact today or else,” believe it. 😄 Don’t run, jog, or jump on it, especially not without wearing a stabilizing knee brace. Someday I’ll learn that lesson.
@WinglessOne Oh no.. hope it gets better soon.
Check-in Sat 7/6: 1 hr dance fitness workout
Check-In Wed 7/3: 1 hr Orange Theory
Check-in 7/2 : Yoga (fundamentals) 1.5 Hr
Quick update!
Last week i finished my 1 week free trial of F45. The community and the people were great and, surprisingly, so was the price. It was a little frustrating because the pricing structure is kind of like Orange Theory - you can't find the info online but instead have to go through a pitch with an employee at the studio. If i were to do monthly unlimited it is priced much lower than Pure Barre or other studios i've been a part of. But, alas, the workout isn't for me. There are just too many decisions to make during the workout (what weights, how fast, etc) and i like someone to just tell me what to do at the end of a long day so i can just zone into the movement.
This week i signed up for a trial at a local yoga studio. They have 7 studios around town with many different kinds of formats. Also, this studio has so many class options that i'm able to go at lunch and then again in the evening to wind down. I really like it! I've never thought of Yoga as a main form of exercise for me - always thought of it as a supplemental part for less intense workout. I do think i'll find something that is somewhere in between the 2 (we are really in a Goldilocks situation here) but i'm enjoying the process.
I really love the versatility of yoga @scott1201. It seems to fit all my moods I mean exercise needs.
Great to hear @scott1201 that you are trying out all variety. Way to find 1-2 that you would really like.
I have done Yoga on and off but this studio and format I like the best and really enjoy.
I had had not even heard of F45. Will see what it is.
weekly Check- in
Monday: walked to the grocery store
Tuesday: Walked to the Laundromat
Wednesday: failure lol
Thursday: Some weightlifting
Friday: w\More weights and 50 sit-ups
Saturday: I'm just going to count work since I went to two jobs 6am-11pm and spent almost all of it on my feet
Sunday: I took a rest day since my ankles are killing me, but still fit in some situps and other healthy choices
Sum up: my fitness tracker has me at over 50Km walked for the week (including a lot of stairs steps at work). I failed to make it to yoga this week though. Looking to get to the gym at least once and make my weekly Yoga class next week, but the steps count is great so far! Soon I hope to add biking to work to my daily activity
Check-in Sun 6/30 : 1 Hr Orange Theory workout.
Awesome idea for a thread!
I’m getting back into regular running, just did a run a couple days ago actually. I’m gonna be heading to the gym tonight and sometime tomorrow for some more treadmill time. 😊
@Anonymous I joined Orange Theory for now since I am hoping that will improve my cardio health and also help me get in shape. 2 days a week.
Rest two days I am planning to do Yoga or Pilates which I enjoy way better and whatever I can do on the fifth day would be bonus. I just found out about dance based fitness class close to me. I think I am going to give it a try. Or just do 45 min dance party with my daughter one day a week at home 😄 😄
Hey, the best workout is the one you can stick to consistently! If that means dance parties with your kid go for it! 💃🏻
Check in Sat 6/29 : 1.5 hr of Yoga
Check-in for 06/27:
Speed-walked outside around my work building for 20 min...and soaked in some sun rays too.
Has anyone ran a marathon before? How do you fuel yourself after the halfway mark? Finishing a half is ok but hitting that wall at mile 10 and overcoming it is already exhausting, and I feel like my body is burning the gels and electrolyte drinks too quickly after that 😞
@RNGesusPls My spouse is training for full marathon this year (might not happen because he just I injured himself) and he was in a training program. They had a session with nutritionist as part of that program where they talked about this specifically. I will check with him and let you know.
Thanks so much @naturalooks15 ! And oh nooo 😞 I hope he's ok and gets well soon!
Check-in Thur 6/27 : 1 Hr Orange Theory Fitness workout
I am taking it at moderate capacity since just re-starting plus other issues, so did not feel like I was dying at the end of it, probably a good things for now 🙂
Check-in Wed 6/26 : Went for a walk in the neighbourhood around 9:30 after realizing that I wouold not hit the 7K steps goal, still didn't hit it but it was pretty close.
