Hi All,
Hoping people would be interested in this.
I want to work out regularly and have a group of people who can keep each other accountable, just do daily check IN’s. I keep falling off the routine and then get into inertia and then it takes few weeks to couple of months to start back up. I am still not fully recovered after last years health issues and excercising is imperative to my health and everyone’s health.
Please let me know your ideas !! We can structure it how everyone wants it.
I was thinking a check in and any tips people have, every day. This is the social group I interact most with and love the company of you kind and fun ladies.
Also let me know if we need to move this thread in any other group.
Some tips I learned for athletic/ athleisure clothes - I used buying new workout clothes as my motivation incentive for being consistent for 1 months rather than any food incentive. Used points to convert to gift cards and then bought 2 sets during sales. Before this I just had 1 legging and 2 Costco shirt. I didn't want to spend any money till I convinced myself that I would consistently use the clothes. Now I do so did some shopping 🙂
Leggings (criteria not rolling down on tummy fat, not needed to be pulled up a lot during the workout) -
Shirts -
How to take care of your workout clothes - I learnt about these recently. I always bought workout clothes from clearance racks in the past so used to just wash with regular clothes in normal cycle. That can cause them to fade soon. If investing in pricier/ better clothes, better take care of these 🙂
*****Goals ***** <<still updating>>
@naturalooks15 Excercise 4 x week. still get to 7000 steps on off days. PT specific exercises 4 x week

@eshoeYes, everything I do is online, mostly through YouTube. For fun channels, I'd recommend Blogilates or Madfit. I'd classify them as moderate. They are not going to push you to gain a lot of muscle or endurance unless you are a beginner.
I also attend live yoga classes online. Many studios in Toronto have gone online and for the most part, the prices are either the same or close to the same which is good because teachers need to get paid fairly. I miss going to class but now I get to support studios that I would consider too far for me to commute to! There are a couple that are too far but I know and love the teachers so I've recently taken classes with teachers I haven't seen in years 🙂
And thanks reviving this thread! I'm drinking more water and doing legs-focused workouts twice a week, one day where I push myself supersetting and end up pretty sore and a maintenance day. On non-leg days, I'll still hit my legs with compound exercises or tension band workouts. I totally forgot about back though, I'm only hitting back when I do full body barre!
@pocketvenus it sounds like you have quite a few really good options! I love that you know a few of the teachers, especially right now-if nothing else, just to feel connected to others.
@eshoe Yes, it's so nice to see them still teaching!! ❤️
Another catchup!
This week went better, I've been feeling pretty sick- not sure if it's just allergies or something more- but we still managed to do a yoga video 4/7 nights this week and walks 3/7 nights. Add in a cleaning day and physical activity has actually been okay
I've been cooking more so while I'm getting more whole fruits, veggies, legumes, etc. in my diet it's been a huge pain calorie tracking wise so I've been vaguely estimating. Even so, after readjusting my goals in MFP for my weight lost so far and my new goals (I now get 100 less calories a day) I've been getting pretty darn close most days without really trying to limit my intake or worrying about my food choices- so that's been awesome.
Oof, last post was two weeks ago- whoops. For the last two weeks we have been pretty consistent on the yoga videos, though we have skipped a day here or there. We've also been going on walks when the weather is suitable
The calorie budget was a bust last week but this week I did better and I did get to my three days within budget! After redoing my "goals" in MFP my budget has gone down 100 calories so we'll see if I can keep it up
Catchup!
Friday 4/9- One 30-minute yoga session and a walk to the grocery store, calorie budget met
Sat- Two 30-minute yoga classes, a 6+ mile walk, calorie budget met!

Tues- Have to count work steps
Wed- Still counting work steps
Today- Got in a 30 minute workout!
with the quarantine and all I've clearly transitioned from buying my feelings to eating my feelings. I'm hoping to reclaim some momentum this weekend that'll keep me going through the next week. Looking forward to the sale, and hoping for some nice weather to at least get a breath of fresh air this weekend 😎

I haven’t tried any of the barre workouts, @naturalooks15 - they look so challenging. But you give me hope, took today off and back at it tomorrow:)
This particular one was ok so do give it a try @eshoe Esp because this one didn’t have any equipments but still felt effective (shoulder & glute muscles burning).
I used to attend Barre classes in a studio 2-3 years ago and they do get very hard esp if you are using bands etc.
I plan to do 50 min of OrangetheoryAtHome workout today evening in another hour.

Thanks for creating this thread @naturalooks15 !
I need to get involved in this thread so someone can hold me accountable. I have been off the workout game since sheltering in place.
I was starting to get back into yoga before everything closed so I'm hoping to get enough yoga in at home to be somewhat decent once I'm able to get back into the studio.
@KatieBT Please join. And if you didn’t already know - Peloton is giving 90 day free trial right now. I tried one yoga class. It was pretty decent. Also ‘doyogawithme’ dot com currently has a free 7 day challenge (they email a new yoga workout everyday).
before shutdown, I was going to Orange Theory (I need to monitor my heart rate closely when working out due to med stuff and they have heart rate based workouts). After the quarantine, they have free videos on YouTube. Just search with Hashtag OrangetheoryAtHome workouts.
I have Both my daughters (almost teens) doing all these workouts with me and they are getting hooked to OrangetheoryAtHome ones most 👍✅
Anyone has a recommendation of online dance workout classes?
