We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

These kids do not need to be going into Sephora and destroying all of the products! Don't get me wrong if the kids parents are okay with it, then let them go in but DO NOT DESTROY THE PRODUCTS! I feel like these kids aren't understanding all of the money people pay for these expensive products. It is just being wasteful and disrespectful! You can go in but just don't be rude. Respect the employees and shoppers!

Totally agree with you — it’s getting out of hand!
Sephora isn’t a playground, and those testers aren't free-for-alls. I feel so bad for the employees who have to clean it all up, and honestly, for the shoppers too. Nothing worse than opening a lipstick tester and realizing it's been through it.

Of course, not all kids are like that — some are super respectful! But the few wild ones are definitely making a mess for everyone.

@Graciegworllll3  No that is not nice. They just want to beautiful so no excuses

Re: We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

When we were the kid’s age, we were obsessed with makeup too! Just maybe from a different brand. But did the adults there complain?? No!! Because we didn’t have social media.

And I have to disagree with you on the “destroying the product” thing. The testers are destroyed, yes, but it’s a serious accusation to blame it on kids who can’t stand up for themselves since they don’t have social media. When a product is tested over and over again, then it will get worn out.

It’s totally normal for tweens (11+) to want to do what they’re seeing older teens and women do. It’s a part of girlhood. They look up to us, and it’s cute. As long as they’re not using products that are hurting their skin, I think it’s totally fine to want to explore a bit in the skincare and makeup industry. C:

I can see what you might be thinking too as well! Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely some rude and disrespectful, and annoying spoiled kids roaming the halls of Sephora. And I’m so sorry if you’ve ever had to encounter one! That mustn’t be fun. 😞 But not every kid is like that. And, I TOTALLY agree with you that NO 9-10 YR OLD should be shopping at Sephora!! 11+ is the age when you start getting acne so I feel like it’s okay to want skincare by that age.

Funny story, there was this 11-12 (idk her exact age) yr old who I met in Sephora and she told me she had eczema and wanted a moisturizer. She decided to get the First Aid one. She accidentally dropped her bag and felt rlly bad because she didn’t want to be “rude and disruptive” and she thought people were gonna start bullying her because she was a little girl who just dropped her bag at Sephora. I told her she was totally fine and nobody was going to bully her.

She was seriously one of the kindest and purest soul I ever met. I would hate for her to receive hate. :’(

Re: We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

EXACTLY!!! I only order online now! Kids just need a good sunscreen and lotion. They don’t need retinol and acids!

Re: We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

@Graciegworllll3 i have to agree with you.  If you are under 14 you should be accompanied by an adult in any store.

Re: We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

I agree girls 14 and under don't need retinol or any expensive skin care . I think  they need to be accompanied by an adult .they should respect the Sephora employees and stop bombarding them and harassing them .

Re: We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

Being 17 I totally agree

Re: We need to stop the 9 and 10 year olds destroying Sephora!

@Graciegworllll3
I do agree although while I don’t feel like they’re “destroying” Sephora (or at least the one I’m at 😉 although the feeling is mutual sometimes) I do feel like they don’t need hardly  any of the things they are buying. In my opinion younger kids should be having fun with makeup they can dress up and play with, like colourpop and stuff, they shouldn’t be wanting drunk elephant products ‼️with retinol ‼️or anything that shouldn’t be used on young skin-it could mess their skin up before they start getting to the age where they can actually break out. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@Cowgirl1300 This is so true! Although at my local Sephora, there are 10-year-olds making a mess and trying out retinol... but I totally agree with you!
