Hello BIC beauties! ๐ I realized we don't have an active music thread here in BIC (there seem to be a few different short-lived threads from years past, but nothing recent as far as I could find), and I thought it would be fun to have a place to recommend our favorite artists and songs, chat about what we've been listening to lately, post our song of the day or anything else music related! Everyone is welcome to join in however you like, however often you like, and all types of music are welcome! ๐
@itsfi yes, definitely a band that has a great catalog of songs!
@caitbird - I heard this song on Friday. I love Pink Floyd! ๐
@Titian06 it's a classic! Pink Floyd has some great songs for sure!
Today's song of the day is:
Dori Freeman - Go On Lovin'
If you haven't heard Dori Freeman yet, go check her out! She's amazing ๐
I just listened to one of her songs - she's good @caitbird! ๐ถ Her transition from a lower register to the high ones is impressive.
@itsfi yes, she has a great voice! My mom discovered her by chance on Spotify a while back, and now my parents and I are all fans. I don't think there's a song of hers that I've heard that I haven't liked. Would love to see her live someday!
I realized I haven't really been listening to much music @caitbird so I went to see what I had been listening to on repeat before this pause and started boppin' around to APT by Rose and Bruno Mars.
My intro to the original APT was by way of the cat cover of the song, which I would dance to with a much loved little. It's been a while since we did that so I'm adding to the "things to do" when we hang out next.
Itโs got a great beat to it @caitbird. Bruno Mars & Rose look like theyโre having so much fun.
@itsfi that is a fun one! I like the music video, they look like they're having a great time.
A lot of times when I'm listening to music, if I'm not in the mood to listen to anything specific, I'll just put my music library on shuffle and see what comes up. So today's song of the day is Lloyd Cole & The Commotions - Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken?
Today's song of the day is Lankum - Hares On The Mountain. I have several versions of this traditional folk song, but this one is my favorite. I have been listening to Lankum a lot lately. Radie Peat's voice is incredible!

@sissyboi72 haha thanks for the rec! I love that lippie on you! ๐
I recently spent an evening perusing Train music videos (โค๏ธ Calling All Angels, Marry Me, Drops of Jupiter.)
I ended the session with The Shallow with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I canโt get get that song out of my head now, itโs so haunting.
Today's song of the day is: Sarah Vaughan - Black Coffee
My mom has been listening to Sarah Vaughan a lot lately, and this is my personal favorite of her songs. Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald also do great versions of this song. โ

Prioritizing sleep and incresing my digital detox from 30 minutes before bed to an hour are a couple of the self-care activites I want to focus on this year @caitbird. The latter is part of my efforts to prioritize sleep and has been helpful with my sleep quality. ๐ One of the activities I include (or try to include) as part of my wind down routine is to get in some restorative yoga while listening to relaxing instrumental music. A set I've been enjoying at the moment is from the YT channel, The Soul of Wind. It's appropriately titled "Relaxing Sleep Music + Stress Relief - Relaxing Music, Deep Sleep Instantly, Night Coffee Music". ๐ถ๐ต๐ถ
Great thread! @caitbird
Song of the day: Walnut Tree by Keane.
You'd think eating a Tous Les Jours bakery Walnut flattie, I'd think of a K'OST but no ๐. I love my Keane, it's my favorite band of all time.
Today's song of the day is:
The Watersons - There Are No Lights On Our Christmas Tree
This song was originally written and performed by Cyril Tawney, but I like the Watersons' version best. The song is about a little boy whose father has a very Scrooge-like attitude toward the Christmas holidays. My dad thought it was depressing when I shared it with him, but personally it tickles my funny bone. So I guess your mileage may vary with this one!
i love gracie abrahamโsssss and billie eylish
Billie Eilish is the best female singer out there! Her songs are so emotional. I love her newest album "Hit Me Hard And Soft"!
YES DEF HER BEST ALBUM
