Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Hi All,

Don't want this to be whining or venting thread but this is pretty much the only community I am active in and really really like it so thought of posting here. 

This is for everyone to post if you like/need.

Some of you may know that I have been though toughest time of my life for last one year and every aspect of my life is hit. Looks like the ordeal is not over and now it's onto my career and in turn mental wellbeing . Without going into too much detail, my health was compromised to the point that it was life threatening, my personal life crisis beyond belief that I never thought would happen to me and crushed me. Now my career is taking a hit for various reasons plus my health/ some physical limitation causing me further stress, anxiety, having hard time concentrating.

I am doing everything I can. Fighting this very hard, trying to stay positive. I have started working out regularly because I think that will help physical as well as mental wellbeing and doing everything I can but I feel I am at a point where it's getting tiring I can use some positive thought and your prayers. 

Also, if you are someone like me where sometime I am at a loss of words and not sure what to communicate to the person but I still pray for them, that is ok too, no need to feel pressured to post anything.

Feel free to post your own requests in this thread. Again, not a pity party and definitely do everything in your control to power though but sometimes positive vibes and prayers are just the things we all could use.

Came back to this thread to post an update and the last one was from me as well. Sorry for blabbing so much about it, but Thursday will be 6 months here in NC for me. I can't believe it's been half a year. Moving here continues to be one of the best decisions of my life. Whenever people ask me how I feel about the move, I say the same thing, "The weather is better, the people are nicer and everything is cheaper." I told myself this would be my next great adventure and it has been and continues to be. This was a big step up in my career, a big change financially and emotionally. I could say a lot more. When I think about the move, my head always goes back to the Tom Petty song Into the Great Wide Open:

Into the great wide open,

Under them skies of blue,

Out in the great wide open,

A rebel without a clue.

I cry a bit every time I listen to it now, as I am at this moment.

Thank you BIC lovelies. All the fantastic supportive people who encouraged me and wished me well. All the people who listened and rooted for me. I am so happy here.

@sprocketta  I am so happy for you!!! I thought you would like the area and if Covid 19 hadn't happened, you could have really enjoyed springtime in the south!!! I hope you're better from the virus and we all can hang on until everything gets a little better!! So happy for you!!!🤗 Take care!!

@yankeefaithful I've really been enjoying the spring here. There is a table outside my building where I sit with my dog. Last Sunday, I sat out with my iced coffee while Joy (my greyhound) laid in the grass. Summer is going to be rough, but air conditioning is king. I bought a sun hat for me (which I love) and I'm waiting for a cooling coat to arrive for Joy. She's having more trouble with it than I am. Thankfully I'm totally recovered. I really want to get to the outer coast. Because of my job, I see pictures of a lot beach houses in that area. I love the style of them and convinced my family to meet me out there for a trip next summer. This year won't really be right for the while family, but I will try to go for a weekend myself. Thanks for the info you gave me about the area.

I've received a couple requests for updates and yesterday was officially a month in NC. For those who don't know, I moved from Chicago to NC for a very exciting job opportunity. It was completely unexpected and moving to NC had never crossed my mind.  I arrived in NC on 12/11, celebrated my 35th birthday on 12/12, moved into my new apartment 12/14 and started the new job on 12/16.

Flash forward a month and I am so incredibly happy. I strongly feel this is one of the best decisions of my life. Work is going really well. I'm learning a lot, my bosses are great and everyone in the office has made me feel very welcome. It's a night and day difference from my last job with a nasty boss who yelled at me all the time. I truly appreciate a good office atmosphere now after suffering through a bad one. Also, since I left the last job, my diabetes has been much better. All the stress before was literally making me such, my blood sugars were through the roof and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Wow, glad I'm free of that! I feel so much better physically now.

Things seem so much better here. It's 65 degrees today in January. Everyone is so nice! I didn't think people in Chicago weren't nice but it's a dramatic difference. The cost of living is so much lower. I stayed in an airbnb when I first got here since I was waiting for furniture to be delivered. It was a lovely house, 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, fenced yard. Really upgraded. I was curious how much it was worth so I looked it up. It was the price of an okay condo in my old neighborhood in Chicago. A house with a fenced yard for my dog was out of my reach in Chicago. I'm getting paid more here so I should be able to pay my credit card debt within a year and then start saving for the house. I had been under some financial strain in Chicago which is not an issue here as long as I manage my money responsibly.

Honestly the only thing that isn't fantastic now is that my dog's separation anxiety has flared up TERRIBLY. When I first got her 7 years ago, she would cry all day and it was horrible. We worked through it and she was fine. I had heard and read that it could flare up after a move and it's happened. On my third day at work my dog walker contacted me to let me know Joy (my dog) actually disabled the alarm in the apartment by chewing through a cord attached to the door. Until a crate was delivered, I was keeping her in the bedroom so she couldn't hurt herself on the wire. She locked the door by chewing on the doorknob. Then she chewed the doorframe. Thankfully she's safer now in the crate. I got one of those dog cameras, which was heartbreaking, because it was catching her crying and recording it. I've only used the camera 3 days as it hurts my heart. I did find a great vet and we're working with her on it. I think it's just going to take time. I flew back to Chicago for xmas and was so upset I had to leave her so soon after arriving. Thankfully I have a great dog walker who stayed with her.

Sorry for the novel. It blows my mind how kind and supportive all the BIC peeps have been. So many of you were rooting for me through the interview process and through the packing and moving as well. I've also received great advice from a few lovelies who have done a cross-country move like this. Honestly I just feel the love and support. I am so incredibly happy and posting here has confirmed for me that there are truly wonderful people on here. Thank you everyone!
