Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Hi All,

Don't want this to be whining or venting thread but this is pretty much the only community I am active in and really really like it so thought of posting here.

This is for everyone to post if you like/need.

Some of you may know that I have been though toughest time of my life for last one year and every aspect of my life is hit. Looks like the ordeal is not over and now it's onto my career and in turn mental wellbeing . Without going into too much detail, my health was compromised to the point that it was life threatening, my personal life crisis beyond belief that I never thought would happen to me and crushed me. Now my career is taking a hit for various reasons plus my health/ some physical limitation causing me further stress, anxiety, having hard time concentrating.

I am doing everything I can. Fighting this very hard, trying to stay positive. I have started working out regularly because I think that will help physical as well as mental wellbeing and doing everything I can but I feel I am at a point where it's getting tiring I can use some positive thought and your prayers.

Also, if you are someone like me where sometime I am at a loss of words and not sure what to communicate to the person but I still pray for them, that is ok too, no need to feel pressured to post anything.

Feel free to post your own requests in this thread. Again, not a pity party and definitely do everything in your control to power though but sometimes positive vibes and prayers are just the things we all could use.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@naturalooks15 So sorry you're going through a rough time, but I think it is good you posted this here. Sometimes we feel we are being burdensome when we share what is weighing on our minds, but the truth is that while this is a fun platform the world is not all sunshine and rainbows and new palette swatches and it is okay (and good!) if this community can reflect that in a positive light. It is also true that many people in our lives wan to help, even if they sometimes don't know how, and you should never be made to feel like a burden for communicating what is in your heart when it gets to be too much.

I have appreciated your fitness thread, as I am also going through a rough patch -though mine is more the angst of being unsure of what I want to do with my life and where I want/need my priorities to be. It's been an ongoing struggle, and I think I'm finally ready to start seeking some professional help for my metal health. In the meantime I'm trying to take little, achievable steps toward getting my life on track and a big part of that has been trying to find a hobby and starting to take better care of my health. We all have hard days, it's good to remember that others have it harder but not if it serves as a reason not to take care of ourselves or ask for the help we need.

I hope things get better soon for you, and that you're able to find a new normal that brings you peace. I hope that the people closest to you are supportive, helpful, and understanding to the best of their abilities. I know that if you keep trying you will find that things will be okay

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@Brutalitops I could not have said it better.

I am a little late to this thread, but I hope you are doing better. Having an exercise routine can really help your mental health (I struggled with mental related issues most of my life). I went through a very rough patch during my early-mid twenties and had professional help for 3 years. To this day I think it was the best investment I ever made in my life and it really equipped me to deal/cope with life/relationships in general.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@Cyncynn Thanks! I'm starting to realize my mental health has been an issue for a long time, and I was really only tending to it when it got to a crisis level. An exercise routine has been/ is really crucial to my mental well being and having the time to really get back on that has been huge. Finding a passion/hobby/interest for the rest of my time is going to be the last piece of the puzzle, I think

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@Brutalitops I am glad to hear that an exercise routine is being helpful - I struggle with finding a hobby too.

If you ever need to talk or need some encouragement/options about exercise routines my PM's are open (I know it's odd coming from a complete internet stranger, but I really mean it ❤️ )

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@Cyncynn Definitely not weird, I appreciate it! I'm doing pretty well for now, but I'm sure there'll be days in the future I could use someone to vent to : )

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

There is a not so great book with a great concept "Start where you are."  That is all you can do.  We can't change the past but can control how we think about it, respond, move forward and create our life going forward.  Start where you are, put on a little lipstick and make it work.

This community is always the best resource.

x

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@naturalooks15 my heart goes out to you. I can personally relate to so much of what you shared, and it is no easy feat to get yourself back to a place where you feel good about your life/self. One of the reasons I love BIC so much is because of the encouragement so many others here share. There is so much compassion, and that helps the internal healing process.

When I was going through some major storms in my life, I almost didn't feel like it was my life - it was surreal. It has taken years to get to a place where the anxiety/depression aren't crippling. I am so, so sorry you are wading through difficult times right now. It hurts and I just want you to know I empathize with your pain. I just wanted to drop in and let you know you are in my prayers <3<3<3

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Sending positive thoughts and virtual hugs to @naturalooks15 and anyone else who who can use them!

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Thank you everyone for so much encouragement. I am not posting a response to individual post as I feel bit weird bringing too much attention to it (though I am the one who posted the thread in the first place). I still feel at some point one can always get some relief from positive thoughts and prayers.

I am truly great full and counting my blessings for what I have.

There are so many people have it so much harder and are soldiering on. It’s been humbling to read it all. Please know that you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@naturalooks15 Sending you positive vibes to help you through this rough time and monumental gratitude for starting this thread! I've been wanting something like this for so long and have been too afraid to start a thread of my own, so thank you. I've been struggling with my mental health since I was a child and am only now starting to be tested for possible ADD/ADHD at 23 years old, which is supposedly directly related to a physical disability I've had since birth. I'm dealing with a lot of anger, sadness, and resentment because of this, but am seeing a wonderful therapist. I also can relate to what @sprocketta said about offending those around me, as if I should be talking to them about everything. In my case, when I do try to talk to them, they blame me and make me feel worse. I too am a bit agnostic due to everything I've been through as @curlychiquita mentioned. I find it kind of hard not to be at this point. Thank you again for this thread and I hope I don't seem too whiny as I know others have it way worse than I do. I'm just grateful for this platform and opportunity. I'm proud of all of you for fighting and living through another day. Also, thank you to those of you who posted the Care Bear GIFs - seeing them makes me feel so good inside.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Not whiny at all @joragroy hope you're doing better and good luck on the tests!

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@RNGesusPls Thanks for checking in! I am slowly working on it.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@joragroy I'm sorry to hear about your struggles as well.  Don't ever feel guilty for going to a professional for help.  Keep on pushing yourself.  I'm keeping you in my thoughts.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Thank you. Your words mean a lot.

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you, @joragroy; good luck with your tests!

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

Thank you

Re: Positive Vibe/ prayer request thread

@naturalooks15 I'm sorry to hear you've been going through what sounds like a storm on all fronts. It was a great idea to start this thread as this community is kind and giving. You should be proud of yourself for fighting instead of getting overwhelmed and giving up. If this is affecting your mental health, our support will help but I would highly recommend a therapist as well. Having someone objective to listen is really helpful. This has for me offended some of those around me, as if I should be talking to them about everything. But the objectivity and opportunity to share the things you don't dare share with friends and family. I'm not encouraging secrets. My biggest supporter is my mom and I tell her pretty much everything but I don't want to burden those around me either.

I personally have struggled with very severe mental illness since I was 14. I've been in and out of hospitals since that age. 20 years ago the stigma was much worse. It has affected my education, my career and my personal life. My illness ramped up about 5 years ago and became very treatment resistant. I'm not asking for pity. I've learned that asking, "Why me? Why must I struggle with this when others don't?" is not constructive and only upsets me more.

I respect anyone who faces a live challenge and chooses to FIGHT. You should be proud of yourself and deserve comfort for it.
