Free Calligraphy Class

If anyone is interested in taking a free calligraphy class, The Happy Ever Crafter has online classes starting July 31st.  I took a calligraphy class 2 weeks ago by myself and have always been interested in it. 

Recently, I was watching Youtube videos and stumbled upon The Happy Ever Crafter.  Now I am signed up for her Show Me Your Drills free online classes and cannot wait for it to start.  Her videos are always so informative.  If you are interested or want to sign up search for The Happy Ever Crafter and her site should pop up.  She also has a free course on water color painting.

@eshoe @Finally got time to practice week 1 day 1 and combination stroke kicked my butt.

@SportyGirly125 your combination stroke is so much neater and precise than mine. I was in a hurry and it showed. 

What paper are you using on top? I am interested in the marker paper, but just did it directly on the printer paper (not the one she suggest, either…making do with what I have at home).

I know not to ask anymore, because it isn’t cool. But she was interested so I printed out Day One and she did it with me. Her combinations ended looking great, I hope she continues.

@eshoe @I had already bought tracing paper from Amazon after my in person calligraphy class which also was on her supplies list. I actually bought another back up and more pens this morning.  Not needed but I also bought another notebook paper she recommended below. Both are gentle for the brush pens and don’t bleed through the paper. Highly recommend if you are looking.

Good to know about the tracing paper. I have one of those graphing pads and just need to a pour the house not sure what my phone translated my writing into here for it. I have a couple of mini ones too and I think I know where they are. 

I had wondered before this class how people manage such perfect script. Muscle memory! I am really glad you mentioned this course, thank you @SportyGirly125

I won’t lie that I am afraid for the next couple of weeks when the tracing gets less and less and we free hand it.

I am excited to be able to use the tracing paper now, but yes. I do remember an online course a year ago or so but it wasn’t nearly this intense. The practice is key and I think this will prove beneficial and more lasting in the long run as a result.

@eshoe @You encouraged me to print out the big pen sheet too. So I have been doing small pen, big pen, and pointed pen (the one with ink). Small pen with the hard tip marker seems to be the best for me.

Yay! @SportyGirly125 agreed, the small brush is my favorite too, although I wish I was better with the large brush. I have a pointed pen but need ink, for now the brush pens will have to do.

Are you spending close to an hour practicing? I am closer to 15 minutes, but still need to do today’s sheet.

@eshoe I spend around 15-20 minutes each day. 

large pen with today’s underturn was hard. It was a little easier with the small pen.
