Christmas Cactus

I enjoy my Christmas Cactus plants. And I look forward each year to their blooms.  This year they are blooming well ahead of time.  

As you can see, there are multiple blooms still waiting to open.  

I will take other pictures as the flowers bloom.

Does anyone else share my love for this plant?? If so, please share your pictures with our community!!!

Here we go ... 

It seems healthier this year but I'm thinking it needs a larger pot ... again. This was the one that accidently got drenched in the rain last year (my bad). Maybe I need to get it a much larger pot as opposed to a just a little bit bigger one? 🤔

Is it common for it to have two different color petals?

@missjeanie, it’s a surprise that they survived last year’s rain pour 🌧️ so I’m happy! 👍🏼 I felt bad no one was buying them (and concerned they just let them sit outside for so long while it was storming). The two different colors do look bright and cheerful together.

@itsfi - You can tell from the flower shapes there are two different types of plants in the pot.  I think this makes the planting look gorgeous!  You don't need to repot unless the plants are showing signs of being pot bound.  They look happy to me. 🙂

Wow, it’s beautiful, @itsfi! I don’t own a Christmas cactus but I do like them. I used to buy poinsettias when my kids sold them in elementary school although after that I stopped.

@curlychiquita, poinsettias are beautiful. I didn’t know anyone who sold them; otherwise I would have made a few purchase I’m sure. I bought plenty of wreaths and gift wrap in addition to cookies and other treats.

@curlychiquita - I used to buy poinsettias from a work colleague's daughter when she was in school.  They were always so beautiful.  Now I don't dare have plants of any type with my kittens! 🙄

So it looks like it’s 2 different plants. All my plants have the same flowers. I love the white flower!! But the combination of colours is so pretty! This is genius!!

Hmmm my Christmas Cactus are in small pots and are super happy. You could leave it as it is and I think it will continue to grow!

@itsfi  Oooo can’t wait to see it!! Mine are all blooming now! It’s a little early for Christmas! I know there’s a variant called thanksgiving cactus but it looks like the Christmas one. Hmmm maybe it will boom again for Christmas!

Not mine, but my neighbor's - I am petsitting for them again, and couldn't help noticing these beauties! She (my neighbor) has a real green thumb. Unfortunately ours is still not blooming this year - I think it is not getting enough light and/or fertilizer.

@itsfi  I agree with @Cissy63  I think you could go either way! I have some that look the same and they still bloom and look beautiful. But if you want to repot it you would see more growth!
