@WinglessOne Thanks so much for all of this helpful information. This makes a lot more sense now - I hadn't entirely considered that sunscreens are regulated as drugs in the US and the implications. That's kind of hard to wrap my head around given dietary supplements aren't regulated by the FDA for effectiveness/safety before marketing. I'm sure the FDA approval process is even slower these days - I think I read over 20% of staff have been fired. 😓 I took a glance at a few charts, and I think I'm more comfortable with newer filters. It gave me an excuse to order some more sunscreen from South Korea before the Aug. 1 tarrifs deadline.
@WinglessOne What would we do without you? Thank you for this info!
Aw, thanks @Samtian. I’m sure some people roll their eyes when I go into info-sharing mode 🫠 but this kind of stuff is good for folks to know. Especially now that more Korean brands are selling sunscreens via US retailers. It’s good to know how the US versions of those sunscreens are different.
A friend insists she’s sensitive to avobenzone and can’t use any US chemical sunscreens. She was excited about the BoJ sunscreen coming to Sephora because hey, it’s Korean so there’ll be no avobenzone—except there absolutely will be, because the FDA won’t let us have nice things. I keep telling her it’s probably not avobenzone that ticks her skin off; it’s probably one of the photo-stabilizing UV filters instead. Not that folks can’t be sensitive to avobenzone, I mean almost any ingredient can irritate skin. My friend also thinks she’s sensitive to zinc oxide because a lotta mineral sunscreens irritate her skin. But I suspect the culprit’s a certain chemical UV filter that’s often found in mineral sunscreens to get good SPF ratings without a high % of zinc oxide. Anyway, now I’m trying to convince her to order a BoJ sunscreen from a K-beauty retailer (while we can still order things from Korea). I’m sure the version sold at Sephora will be a good one! It just won’t be the same as the ones BoJ sells in their own country.
@WinglessOne It's definitely helpful! It's not anything I would have even thought about.
That's the one I have as well @PrettyPaint - we're twinning it! 😊 I don't think you have anything to worry about; it's efficacy related, though it may impact how you will have access to Korean version of sunscreens. I'll have to take a look at the INCI list of the new BOJ one to see if it's something I should pick up - some combination of the chemical filters in the US irritate my eyes and make my vision blurry so I've often just avoided them altogether.
I'm hopeful the product line will make it in store relatively soon following the launch (or that they have promo sample sizes) - I like being able to try out the texture/consistency first. I do less blind-buying these days - I want to say it's a lesson learned, but I do backslide on that. 😂
@itsfi I'm glad there's nothing to worry about. I really do hope they offer promo sample sizes to test out first, especially if some of the US filters bother your eyes. Actually, my eyes have been burning quite a bit lately. I had assumed it was allergies; however, now that you mention the sunscreen, I suppose I could be sensitive to sunscreen around the eye area.
@itsfi I have the same issue with some chemical sunscreens. Once the day wears on and they mix with perspiration and migrate to my eyes, they really sting.
Nest introduces a body wash to two of its fragrances; well, two, so far - Madagascar Vanilla and Lychee Rose. I imagine more of their fragrances will be added. And, perhaps they’ll be available through Sephora at a future date? For now, these can be picked up online from Nest New York.
😶😮
IKR?!! Thought of you when I saw that vanilla @danielledanielle. It’s on my list but I made my Nordstrom Anniversary sale purchases yesterday so I’m going to try to hold off picking anything that wasn’t already on my permitted purchases. If you get it, would love to know your take on it.

Does anyone know anything about this?
@makeitup305 its live! I like the 1700 watts but idk if I'm that impressed with the brushes!
@greeneyedgirl107 I was looking at it on the dyson website and was intrigued but idk if I like that you need an app. You also don't get long barrels, which I definitely need. I'm super intrigued by the hair straightener attachment so maybe if they come out with different attachments in the future I'll consider it.
@makeitup305 I don't like the app idea, either. Im also wanting to see more attachments...do you think we'll see any in the near future?
