Can y'all believe 2019 is literally knocking on the door??  Given its proximity it's high time we get the 2019 Panning Challenge Rolling.

The "Rules"

To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections.  For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Getting Started (please share the following)

• Which item(s) you would like to work on
• How long you will work on said item
• Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.
• Starting photo of item

Please Use This Thread To...

• share what item(s) you are working on,
• provide comparative progress photos of your item(s) monthly (at the beginning of the month when possible),
• ask questions,
• encourage others,
• motivate others with the looks you create with your item(s)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:

• Take photos!!  When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes 😃
• If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
• Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc. 
• Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
• Have shadows with a ton of fall out?  Use water
• Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs.  We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
• Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.  It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
• Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!  Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.  Move on to something else!  (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)

Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:

• Roll the dice: number your items and use a random number generator to pick what you will use each (day/week/month/etc.) 
• Layer/Mask: items you are less fond of under things you like
• Pan a Look: at the beginning of the week pick a look that you can wear everyday
• Recreate: a look worn by a fellow BICer, celebrity, etc.
• Spice up an "everyday" look by adding subtle pops of color (in the crease or on the lower lash line, mix lip products to make shades wearable, etc.)

Just for reference..not part of a project..

I've been using the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Originalsince January. I've tracked 200 uses.

Laneige may seem expensive for a lip balm but considering the amount of uses, it's quite a deal. I will continue tracking to see the total. I also have minis from the holiday kit and will let you know when one is finished.

@ShortErica jeeeeeez! I have one of those DS I’ve been using, I believe they’re 3 grams. I don’t use it all the time, I would say maybe 1-2x per week since late December and honestly you cannot even tell ive used it. And I have another DS in vanilla waiting 🤦🏽‍♀️ Pan it 2019-2021: laneige edition

That's incredible! I picked up one as a 100 point perk months back. At the time I had rewards bazaar remorse (sometimes I'm really hasty with my redemptions). But I ended up falling in love with the product and cannot believe how long the deluxe sample has lasted me.

oooh that's amazing! i was debating on repurchasing the bite lip mask or one of the laneige lip masks and ended up going with bite again. i'll definitely have to try the laneige next time i need a nightime lip balm

The Bite has much better staying power in my opinion but the Laneige is smoother for sure @Kaylabr. Let me know if you try it out. I'd suggest a mini!

Before I purchased I kinda gave it a side eye since there are so many lip balm options out there for a cheaper price. But seeing how long the jar will last gives a whole new perspective @curlychiquita

@ShortErica, i have this since Spring sale 2017.  I remember i got it as part of the Spring sale mix up.  CS told me to keep it instead of sending it back due to whatever i ordered ran out of stock.  I'm almost done with it.  For the first year, i used it once a day.  After that, i have been using it as my lip balm (so several times a day).  I think i will finish it by the end of this month 😉 So yes 25-26 months for me lol.

Wow that's crazy! Thanks for sharing @blackkitty2014. I mainly use it right before bed but occasionally use it during the day. I need to up my usage to finish it for sure!

These are the products I've finished this year. I would or already have repurchased most these products, except for the Becca primer. I liked the glow it gave, but I prefer to use face products without a strong fragrance.

And these beauts are ones I'm working on to use up this year. I'm super excited about finishing up the Hourglass palette and Becca highlighter because that would mean I'd be down to 1 powder and 1 cream highlighter. As for the Tarte cream blush palette I might just have to declutter it since it might be past its prime. I am chuffed with hitting pan on a blush and the highlight and how much I used of the other colors.
