Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Self-Care Month kicks off on June 24, right on the heels of the summer solstice (June 20), but we don't have to wait until then to kickstart (or kick up) our wellness efforts. Whether you already have a solid self-care routine you engage in consistently, or you're dipping your toes into self-care for the first time, or you're stuck in a rut & looking for a refresh on your way to wellness, welcome!! 😀

June 2025 BWell Bingo Card (final form).jpg

What Is This About?

Simply put, it's about focusing on our personal wellness, in a fun way à la the bingo card, with a few adjustments to the  traditional bingo rules.

How To Play/Participate:

Work towards completing the activities on the bingo card during the month, taking into account where you are personally on your wellness journey & what will serve you best as you care for yourself. You may want to complete several of the activities in one week, or none at all. The next week may include checking off one square or taking the free space. You may find an activity to be something you want to hone in on and work on little by little, for a week or the whole month.

Do what you can when you can as you can. Make adjustments as needed. Remember, we're all in different places and spaces - physically, mentally, environmentally. Please tailor the activities to meet those places and spaces, including doing things incrementally, starting out slowly, bit by bit, and building up gradually from there, if and as needed.

We love hearing about how everyone goes about these monthly wellness bingo activities. If you're up for it, feel free (but not obligated) to share what activity / activities you've undertaken, what has worked for you - it can be once a month, once every other week, every 7-10 days, etc. It can include photos, or be as quick and easy as hitting "Reply" at the bottom left to this original post, sharing your activities, and then clicking "Post".

June Wellness After.jpg

It was hard to size and place the seagulls lol. BINGO!

  • Gratitude- At a recent photoshoot in Utah one model is allergic to bugs, but was still willing to try to shoot on a super old tractor, and another was willing to lay on the ground for me. I made sure I let them and the host know I appreciate them.
  • Fruits and Veggies- I don't know the seasonal part but I had Mandarins and arugula, green beans, and potatoes. Ok I know it's not potato season lol.
  • Get Outdoors- We've been working outside on the yard, big project for us coming up soon.
  • Summer Stroll/Exercise- I went to the shoot in Utah, and since I always try to arrive early I drove around and found a little park/trail and I walked around there for a few minutes. Well more than a few minutes but not like an hour. I had grabbed a sunscreen sample to take with me...and you bet I lost that before I even left the house ugh. Plus carrying my flash equipment is a work out.
  • Intellectual- I've been playing Clue everyday, and on Thursday I purchased one of the new packs, that'll keep me playing longer as well.
  • Cool Drink- I finally made a smoothie. I need sweeter yogurt not plain yuck.
  • Pay it Forward- While in Utah, they have In-n-Out, we do not in Idaho. So that place is always packed. I used Google to help me find one close by that I've never been to. It led me to the parking lot, but to get to the drive thru line you have to turn left...well I had been there waiting to turn left for quite a few minutes, finally the end of right turn cars was nearing, a jeep with two girls let me go in front of them. I really appreciated it! So anyways I had a $20 bill, my order was just under 10, so I asked the cashier to put my change on the car behind Me's tab. When they got to their turn to pay and I was waiting for my food, I hear the two girls yell out THANK YOU!!! It made me smile so much haha.
  • Healthy Meal/ New to You- In our Hello Fresh box I decided to try something new from this thing they occasionally do called test kitchen. Things they haven't officially launched yet kinda stuff. Cantina Chicken & Cheesy Polenta Arepas. HF says the arepas are popular in Colombia + Venezuela. I can see why! I loved them.
  • Stay Hydrated- Me and my Cirkul have been friends lately, same with gatorade. Cut soda to one a day mostly, some days none.
  • Arts- photography always.
  • Hand/Foot Care- When I remember, after a shower/bath I put some of the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Butta Drop Whipped Oil Hydrating Body Cream Mini "Fenty Fresh" whatever scent I have available, on and then put comfy socks on. My feet appreciate it.

The screen time limit is definitely not happening. Besides always needing to edit. But story time! So a few years ago, like 4 I think these three cats appeared, two oranges and a tabby. Before we never really had strays except one we called Lil Rooster/ Mean Tabby. The two oranges eventually let me near them, but the tabby was super spicy! Like SUPER. Next year the tabby turns out to be female and brings around 3 kittens. You might be familiar with one of them Leon. I am able to catch Leon after it's too late and she has kittens, you might know them as the Compy Clan. Leon was fixed. Same day Leon brings me her kittens, mean mommy as we call her, brings more. One of them you might know as Demon aka my rabies vaccine reason, and a few others, only two of them come around. I'm able to catch one of those and get her fixed. Well mean mommy, who I can't catch for the life of me, and I've offered to pay people to help me but no one will, she brought me her kittens on Thursday, leaving for work and there was two on the stairs! Turns out there are 6 😑. But for some reason she brought them into our garage, she always hisses, spits, and swings at us, so I was really surprised she brought them so close to us. I have a nanny cam in there so I am always checking in on them. These guys run the instant they see me, hopefully I can get them used to me and catch them when they are older. Mom has already told me NO they cannot come in the house. But honestly at this point, how are you even going to notice more? Haha.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Love your story time @Samtian !!! I love how youre trying to get them fixed! I volunteer at a kitten nursery and always love to see other animal lovers doing the right thing!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Oh @Samtian, you had so many amazing self-care / wellness moments - and bingo, too!! 🙌🙌 Congratulations!!! 🎉 Quality and quantity in spades. Well done. 👏 You're really close to a couple more rows/columns for bingo - niiiiice.

Your photos are incredible! 📸 I loooove the gas station background in your shoot - very cool and artistic! Adding that to my list of things to see. The fish is a fun one too. Going to do some research on both of those spots. Ahhh, the view from your stroll is beautiful - calming, peaceful. 💟

Your dinner looks delicious; I'm trying to think whether I've had arepas and don't think so. I've had something similar, I think, but they're from a diffferent South American region. I've made a couple of salmon & couscous meals since seeing how good yours looked last month.

lol, the seagulls are hilarious and very appropros for the beach theme. Love it. That was a very generous way to pay it forward. Admirable and inspiring.

Edited to add: Any of the following can add some sweetness to your smoothies:

  • honey
  • pineapple juice, mango juice, apple juice, orange juice - the closer to 100% juice the better from a natural / artificial sugar perspective
  • coconut water - it's a good natural source of electrolytes

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

@itsfi Thank you!

The gas station place is called petroliana museum in provo utah. They just line the gates of a storage unit place. It was pretty cool! The fish is not far away at the Delta area above it.

I want to make more arepas, they were yummy! How did your salmon dinners turn out?

Smoothies, how do you make the honey not be in just clumps? Haha your list made me laugh, let me shorten that for you- apple/orange juice. 🤣

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Thank you so much for the info on the UT spots, @Samtian!

lol, I had a feeling that list wasn't going to all be winners for you. For the honey, there's a couple of ways you can go about it, some of them being:

  • mix the honey in your yogurt first and then add that mixture into your blender
  • use honey sticks (see below) - the consistency seems to me to be thinner, making it easier to dispense into the blender and to blend. My suggestion would be to sandwich it between something more dense that you are using in your smoothie. What kind of blender are you using - one where the blades are at the bottom of the vessel? Or one where the blade is the lid/cap to your cup, you twist the lid (with the blade attached) onto the cup and then flip it and place the lid onto the blender base? Lemme know and I can give you a better idea of the order I'd put in the ingredients.
  • if you have a jar of honey, get a bowl, place the jar onto the middle of the bowl and fill the bowl with warm water to dissolve the honey crystal and make it a more liquidy form. This will make it easier to get the honey into the cup / blender, but I would still sandwich between certain ingredients.

Salmon and couscous came out okay. I went with a Mediterranean take on ingredients. The grocery store was out of ground harissa so I had to go with a more liquid base - well, I could have gone to another store but I wasn't in the mood for that.

Salmon + Couscous.jpg

The harissa sauce had a bit of tang to it due to the vinegar so I wanted to cut that down with the cucumber tzatziki - it's an easy recipe - thinly sliced cucumber mixed with a blend of low-fat yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, lemon zest - I would have added dill and garlic if I had them in the house that day). The couscous I cooked based on the instructions on the box but added spinach to it after taking it off the stove, and added the tomatoes and some olive oil when I was fluffing it up before plating). Topped it with some Everything Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend.

I want to try it with harissa powder as a rub, but another time.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

@itsfi Honey sticks are a good idea! I use a blender with the blades at the bottom.

Salmon looks and sounds yummy! Dill is the best ingredient ever 🤤

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Here's the order I would use for adding ingredients for your smoothie:

1. liquids first, closest to the blade - water, coconut water, milk, juice, etc. I've found this helps with getting all the ingredients to flow through easier and also with having other ingredients getting stuck to the side of the blender.

2. Finely milled powders next, like protein powders or supergreens powder or electrolyte powder mix.

3a. Softer fruits and veggies - spinach, berries, peaches, banana, etc.

3b. Leafy greens, hard(er) veggies & fruits - kale, celery, apple, pineapple, etc.

4. Creamy ingredients like yogurt, peanut butter or other nut butters, honey, silken tofu, etc. Note, I do try to mix the honey into the creamy product first, just to further minimize it getting stuck to the sides or blades of the blender.

5. Frozen, hardest items last (furthest from the blades) -- frozen fruit, ice, 100% fruit juice popsicle, nuts, and seeds.

I haven't tried the silken (yet!) in a smoothie but I did buy a pack to try it out. I'm a little nervous but I think it will work to give my smoothie a certain consistency, rather than taste. I know, I know, @Samtian  - it's what you've been wanting to know about making a smoothie. hahaha!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

@itsfi This is very helpful, thank you! Haha some of those don't apply to me, but it is good to know! I don't think we have silken tofu around here. We barely have tofu.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

You’ll have to let us know if you find a favorite combo of ingredients for your smoothies @Samtian

Tofu is an acquired taste. I was not a fan of it at all as a kid. 😆 I’m not sure I’m sold on silken tofu. It was just okay in the smoothie.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

You are definitely on the wellness bandwagon! @Samtian

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

@CorgiMommy Thank you!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Listen to music I'm taking advantage of the listening to music in my car.  I haven't always done this but it really makes me happy when a n upbeat song is playing.

Get outdoors We've had a few days without rain so I've been outside catching up on yardwork.  Yes, with spf,  using the samples from the Sun safety kit.

Limit screen time This was an absolute necessity!

That's it so far!

As always, thank you @itsfi this is such a pleasure for fun and wellness.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

@byme4u you are rocking this month!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Whoa, great work @byme4u. We're just starting out the month and you are getting in some marvelous self-care activities. I hear ya on being uplifted by upbeat songs. And woohoo!!! 🙌 to limiting screen time. I know I spend a lot of time on my phone but I don't realize just how much until I have a period where I've intentionally unplugged myself from it.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Alright, I'm back ..

I get oddly task oriented with self care, and then it's no longer self care for me at this point.  I think I need to break/deviate from routines every now and then.  And this time.. it was like 4 months?

Top left, already working on my summer playlist.  Will post to BIC Playlist if anyone's interested, and what I'm vibing to/repeating today to 🎶Song of the Day and Music Thread!🎶

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Nice to see you back @danielledanielle. A playlist for summer sounds fantastic!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Welcome to Wellness Bingo for June 2025!

▶️  How To Play - There are several ways to go about this wellness challenge, including, but not limited to:

  • Go for BINGO, 5 consecutive squares, whether they be 5 squares in a row, in a column or diagonal
  • Pick a row or column and work your way through the activity noted - you can aim to do a square a day, moving on to another row or column each week.
  • You can pick a different square you want to work on for each week
  • Select activities that interest you or challenge you and work towards checking off those squares
  • Choose at random what self-care activity you want to engage in for the day

For a more detailed description (and examples) of the self-care activities listed in the squares or examples of how you might go about those activities, check out the posts below.

If you're interested in seeing examples of previous month's bingo activities and how other BIC beauties have gone about it, here are links to a couple BIC BWell bingo games from previous months.

Wellness In Progress: May 2025  Wellness In Progress: April 2025

[NOTE: doing a little rebranding, so you'll see "Wellness In Progress" as the working title for wellness bingo from past months. Same concept, different name.]

⚠️  Make Adjustments As Needed - We are all at different stages of our wellness / self-care journey. While it can be good to challenge ourselves, sometimes, it's best to take make adjustments. I'm not at expert at this at all, and if there's an activity that is not something you are ready for, or one that you should not engage in, make the adjustments you need to, or just skip that square altogether.

  • Be Safe. Consider weather conditions and your health and physical condition before engaging in any activities listed. For activities you're unsure of, especially the physial ones, before starting an activity, consult with your physician or health care professional before make any adjustments, if and as appropriate.

  • Duration For Activities. As you will see, some activities include in parenthesis a time period. These are arbitrary and should be taken as a suggestion. If you are able to safely spend more time performing the activty, go for it. If it's better to start out with a shorter time period, do so. If you're starting out or are aware of certain conditions that may make it more challenging to engage in the activity listed, please discuss with your physician or health care provider before starting, and adjust accordingly.

Practicing wellness is a process, one that takes time and effort. Sometimes it's about finding what works for you, while other times, it's all about hitting your stride and maintaining your routine. We have our good days ... and our bad ones. Self-care can be a very personal effort - what works for one person may not work for someone else. And, that's okay. It doesn't hurt to have some support and encouragement along the way. Or just knowing that there are others working towards wellness. Wellness takes work. Let's do the work together, BIC!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: June 2025

Description (and Examples) of June 2025 Wellness Bingo Activities - The examples listed are just that, examples of the broader self-care activity described in the squares. If there's another way you like to go about the activity described, let us know. We love learning about new activities or other ways to go about them.

FIRST ROW:

Music - Listen, Sing, Dance - Music can be a powerful tool as we practice self-care. It can help to reduce stress, lift us up, and be an outlet for emotional regulation and expression, whatever that emotion may be. Have a song you enjoy a lot? Or, discovered a new fave? Let us know in your check-in or share on the 🎶Song of the Day and Music Thread!🎶

Summer Self-Care To Do List - Okay, BIC, what are the self-care activities you want to engage in this summer? Write 'em down - on your phone, in your journal, on a series of post-it notes placed randomly around your screen ... wait, is that just me?!

Think of this square as either a way to revisit / re-evaluate your resolutions from the beginning of the year or to create a practical, realistic and manageable list of activities you want to do this summer, with the goals of those activities geared towards your well-being. It can be 1 thing you want to work on for the summer or a handful of activities. Create your Summer Self-Care List and use it as a guide for your working towards wellness this summer.

Practice Gratitude - What or who are the things or people you are grateful for? Some examples for practicing gratitude, include but are not limited to:

- Making an effort / carving out time in your day to be (more mindful) of the people, events and things in your life this week that you are thankful for
- Letting someone know in an email, text, in person, etc. that you are grateful/thankful for them or for something they did
- Writing in a journal about the people, things you appreciate

Seasonal Fruits & Veggies - Get in your fruits and veggies. Summer offers a plethora of delicious fruits and vegetables. Grill 'em. Add 'em to your oatmeal, salad, water, and/or smoothies. Or just eat them as they are.  If you have a farmers' market near you, grab a bag & head on over to see what's available. If not or that's not your thing, have a helping of fruits and veggies, seasonal or otherwise.

Get Outdoors (Remember SPF & H2O) - Days are longer, weather is warmer (for the most part). Enjoy it! Some ways to get outside and enjoy the beauty of summer include:
- go for a walk, hike, run, or bike ride
- eat outside - whether you're dining out or at home
- have your morning coffee (or tea) outside - thank you _ather for inspiring this one
- start or continue to look after a garden
- spend time at the park, maybe even have a picnic or fly kites, play a game of touch football, chase butterflies
- go to the beach

Remember your sunscreen and water! If you have a favorite sunscreen, hop on over to National SPF Day ☀️ and share your fave(s).

SECOND ROW:

Summer Stroll -  Going on a long walk can be a great way to explore your surroundings, clear your mind and enjoy the warmth of summer. It's a wonderful way to get some exercise. You can go on your own or do it with a friend or group of friends and have some time to catch up along the way.

Speak Kindly To Yourself - Affirm yourself. For your resilience. For your thoughtfulness. For your work ethic. For your accomplishments. For your amazing sense of style. For the things that make you you.

Affirm yourself. Out loud. In your journal. To a close friend or family member. To yourself.

Affirm yourself. When you're surrounded by noise. When no one is looking.

Affirm yourself.  When you're taking a summer stroll. Or exercising. When you're on your commute to/from work. When you're lying in bed, trying to get to sleep. When you're sitting down with a cup of tea or glass of wine. When you're standing in front of the mirror.

Exercise Outdoors (30 Minutes) -  Take advantage of the summer sun (remember sunscreen and water) and to the extent you can, exercise outdoors - go for a run, play tennis or pickleball, go swimming, try paddleboarding, give yoga in the park a try, sign up for an outdoor boot camp, go for a long walk, hike, or bike ride, etc.

Eat / Drink Outside - If you're dining out and it's available, ask to sit outside. If you're at home, make yourself a coffee, tea, smoothie, spirited drink and sit outside on the steps or in your backyard. Or grab a cup of coffee (home made, store bought or from a coffee shop) and head out for a leisurely walk.

Intellectual Wellness -  Giving our brains a workout (that's different than the hoops and hurdles it may be asked to go through in your day job).  An article published in UC Davis Heath described intellectual wellness as being "about nurturing your mind." Intellectual wellness "encourages you to stay curious, engage in creative activities, and continue learning through life."  Some ways to go about improving our intellectual wellness include:
- Reading
- Writing
- Learning a new language, skill, craft, instrument
- Engaging in brain teasers or mind puzzles, like sudoku, working on physical puzzles,  Rubik's Cube, crossword puzzles, riddles, quiz night at the neighborhood bar, playing against the contestant on Jeopardy!, etc.
- Taking a class or workshop
- Watching documentaries, listening to podcasts & audiobooks on a subject or topic that is new to you (or an area that you are delving into)
- Traveling

Please note that neither I, nor to my knowledge (without inquiry) Sephora, are affiliated with UC Davis or UC Davis Health, or any other organization, business or brand referenced here (unless otherwise noted).

THIRD ROW:

Limit Screen Time - There have been many "digital detox before bed" squares in our monthly wellness bingo. This one adds a slight twist to the practice of unplugging from our electronics. Setting them aside for a period of time during the day (when we really do not need to be on our phones or computers, etc.). We're all at different stages in terms of how often we use our electronics outside of work or beyond when we really need to reach or use them.

- Try setting aside your phone and not reaching for it when you're out to lunch or dinner with friends and family - if you need to leave promptly to get back to work or wherever you are going next, set an alarm and then put your phone away, for half an hour, an hour, more ...

- Carve out 10, 20, 30+ minutes that you might otherwise be on social media and replace it with an activity, possibly a self-care activity, that doesn't require the use of electronics.

Prioritize Sleep - Quality sleep - a well rested brain and body - can play a crucial role in our wellness, our wellbeing. It can be hard to make time for it with all the things we have on our plates, but every effort counts. A few ways to prioritize sleep include:
- Limiting your screen time or disconnecting from electronics as you unwind and  prepare for bed
- Creating a wind-down pre-sleep routine and work on keeping to it consistently
- Going to bed and wake up at the same time every day
- Avoiding a large meal, alcohol, and caffeine before bed

Free Space - Do something wellness related or nothing at all (which can also be a form of self-care), this square is a freebie.

Have a Cool & Refreshing Drink - Or, if you prefer a warm drink, that'll work as well!

Pay It Forward - This square involves doing a good deed for someone else, with no expectation to receive anything in return. There are several ways to "pay it forward", including, but not limited to:
- Being kind: Offer a sincere and meaningful compliment. Actively listen to someone when they're speaking.
- Being courteous: Let someone go in front of you in line at the store, on the road. Return someone else's shopping cart.
- Being grateful: Be grateful for the kindness of others; accept someone else's help or offer for help.
- Being generous: Offer to help someone with their errands, chores. Share your knowledge, skillset, expertise.
- Being positive: Offer kind and encouraging words to someone.
- Donate: Give the gift of your time, money, or goods. If you're spring cleaning your house, consider donating clothing to a shelter or canned food to your local food bank
- Volunteer: Sign up to volunteer your time at a local animal shelter, soup kitchen, place of worship, retirement home, etc.

FOURTH ROW:

Have a Healthy Meal - Whether you're cooking at home, going out, getting  take-out or having it delivered, or reheating leftovers, etc., sit down, slow down, and practice self-care by nourishing your body with a healthy meal. If you a food pic or recipe to share, have at it here or check out the Re: What's on your plate? thread.

Quality Time with Loved Ones - The sun is out (or should be, for the most part). Enjoy some time outdoors with (a) loved one(s), be it your partner, significant other, family, friends, fur babies. Carve out time to be with the ones you love and who love you.

Physical Wellness - Physical wellness is about the actions we undertake or refrain from undertaking in our efforts to reach or maintain the optimal or maximum health of our physical bodies. It is closely tied to other areas of wellness and there are several ways to go about looking after our physical wellness, including -

- Moving your body. Getting regular physical activity - walking, stretching, lifting weights, yoga, cycling, etc. Start small if this is new to you.

- Nourishing your body. Being mindful of what we put into our bodies. It's not necessarily about following a certain type of diet (unless certain restrictions or guidelines are directed by your healthcare provider), but making efforts to consume good-for-your-body foods, balancing fruits, veggies, grains and healthy fats that your body needs to perform optimally.

- Getting adequate rest and sleep. It's recommended that most adults get 7-9 hours of quality sleep every night.

Look, I get it. 7-9 hours is not always easy to come by. Making it quality sleep during that entire time can be even more difficult. Do what you can to create a routine and sleep environment that can help you get there.

- Managing stress. Some amount of stress can be healthy and can optimize how we perform. Too much stress, however, is, well, too much. Finding ways to relax and relieve stress (whether it's taking deep breaths, giving ourselves a time out, journaling or talking to a friend or therapist, etc.) can improve our health in the long term.

- Preventative care. Scheduling regular  medical check-ups, screenings and immunizations.

If you have an activity that falls in the physical wellness category, go for it! If there's something on this month's wellness bingo card that fits and you enjoy doing it, have another round of it. NIH also puts out a  checklist that might be of interest (see below).  Please note that neither I, nor to my knowledge (without inquiry) Sephora, are affiliated with the National Institutes of Health, or any other organization, business or brand referenced here (unless otherwise noted). You may wish to consult with a medical professional, heath care provider, trainer, nutritionist and/or other professional as needed before engaging in activities described in wellness bingo, including physical wellness activities described.

Stay Hydrated - Whether it's eight (8) - 8 oz of water, half your body weight or some other figure, get in your daily water intake, as well as extra doses with the weather warming up. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

New-to-You OR Tried-and-True - Whether there's a tried-and-true activity that promotes your well-being or something new-to-you that you've been meaning to try, go for it. If it's something you've already undertaken for this month's wellness challenge, do it again for this square! It can be part of an intellectual wellness practice, your emotional wellness, or related to wellness at work or looking after your finances or physical health. It can be done indoors, outside, involve a treat for yourself or just hitting 'pause', being still and relaxing. This is an open-ended square for Self-Care: Your Way, and in celebration of Self-Care Month, which kicks off on June 24.

FIFTH ROW:

Stretch (30 Minutes) - Go for a full body stretch or focus on one or more body parts. For example, if you sit in front of a computer all day, consider spending a good chunk of this time on your hands and wrists, along with your neck, shoulders and core. If you stand all day, maybe you want to focus some extra time on your legs and back.  If you don't have 30 full minutes to spare (or if that's just a long time to devote to stretching), break it up for something that's more realistic for your schedule, your body, your lifestyle - maybe it's 3 10-minute sessions throughout the day. Maybe it's a series of 2 - 5-minutes stretches while you're on hold, on a video conference call (a great time to do some ankle stretches without anyone seeing what you're doing on screen). Or, maybe you start off the month trying to get in 10 minutes a day and work your way up to 30 over a longer stretch of time (pun completely intended).

Create - Arts, Crafts, Hobbies - With your hands. Your words. Your voice. Drawing, sketching, knitting, crocheting. Writing music, poetry. Painting. Coloring. Taking Photos. Creating a Look / Doing Your Makeup. A new or new-to-you meal or dish. This can include arts, crafts and hobbies, as well as tailoring your own plan for:
- bettering your physical health,
- promoting your emotional wellness,
- meeting your financial wellness goals,
- maintaining wellness at work,
- creating a space at home or in your schedule for quality self-care, and/or
- checking off the boxes on your summer self-care to-do list (see second square in Row 2)

Quiet Time - Meditate - Journal - Breathe - Sometimes we just need to quiet things down, slow things down. To be quiet, to meditate, to journal, to just breathe. Carve out 5 minutes, just 5 minutes and give it a try. If you can do more than 5 minutes, go for it. If the thought of being still or quiet for 5 minutes causes anxiety to creep up on you, aim for 1 minute to begin with, 30 seconds if a minute is too much.

Digital Detox Before Bed (30+ Minutes) - Unplug from your electronic devices for at least 30 minutes before it's time to turn off the lights and call it a night (unless you use them to unwind - i.e., audiobooks, Kindle, apps like Headspace, etc.).  If 30 minutes seems too much, start out with 5 minutes or 10, whatever you're comfortable with.

Hand & Foot Care - Let's look after our hands and feet.  A couple of ways to do this include:
- Washing and exfoliating regularly
- Moisturizing
- Applying sunscreen, as appropriate
- Protecting your hand - wearing gloves when gardening, breaking down boxes, household chores
- Protecting your feet - wearing shoes appropriate to your activities
- Pampering them with a mani/pedi, at home or in a salon. This can include using a mask, applying oil to the cuticles, etc.
