Monthly Favorites: October 2020 Edition!

As we head into the last week of October, it’s officially spooky szn, but there’s nothing scary about my monthly beauty faves (except maybe that radioactive-looking comb 😵)! My October picks represent a range of “newness” – one is a brand-spankin’-new product, others are new from earlier this year, and a couple of them are some longtime Community standbys -- but they’re *all* new to me, so I’m excited to share them with the B-I-C! So check out my October favorites below, then dig into your stash and tell me – what fragrance, hair, skincare, makeup, or wellness goodies have you been turning to the most this month? Holy grails, new favorites, and rediscovered beauty gems are all fair game!

@AlexBT I have been LOVING Youth To The People Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Peptides 4 oz/ 118 mL .  It exceeded my expectations!  It goes on so lightly, and absorbs quickly.  But don't let the delicate application fool you - it packs a punch.  My skin tone is sparkly, and more supple.  What a great discovery.  I use it three times a day on clean skin.  It's become a staple.

I'm curious what other mists BICers use, and how many spritzes they put on (I do three at a time).

The only thing I don't love is the glass bottle - I'm afraid I'll break it as I have a habit of knocking things over.

@greeneyedgirl107  I still can't get over how fine and airy a mist comes out of that bottle of, um, liquified shea butter. 😄 It's great stuff! 

My favorite mist is COSRX Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner. Since it comes in a spray bottle, I use it as a soothing and hydrating mist as needed throughout my routine. I do also still use the YTTP mist, especially now that we're finally into fall weather. I especially like to use it after applying The Ordinary Buffet: I still think that serum + this mist = heavenly match.

@WinglessOne Yes - that mist is incredible!  I will definitely have to try using it after The Ordinary "Buffet" 1 oz/ 30 mL .  I just picked up Buffet and am trying to figure out the best way to use it.  Thanks for the rec.  And I'll also look into the COSRX toner 🙂

I'm currently rotating through these mists AMOREPACIFIC Moisture Bound Skin Energy Hydration Mist, Whamisa Organic Flowers Damask Rose Petal Mist, and La Roche Posay Serozinc.

@itsfi Thanks for all the good leads!  The Serozinc sounds interesting, as it's for oily skin.  Love anything to decrease the oil!

Will have to try that one next. 🙂 I also like Tatcha The Satin Skin Mist 1.35 oz/ 40 mL, but I usually use it more while I'm in the middle of applying my makeup (sometimes I spritz it on my beauty blender when applying concealer - idk, I just feel like it helps blend and set it, but it could just be in my head)!

Ooooh ... I will have to give that mist a try @greeneyedgirl107!!! I have recently become obsessed with mists and use them throughout my routine. This month I finished the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench® Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Toner Mist. I liked it, but I would only repurchase it during a sale. I've also been using the Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner 4.2 oz/ 125 mL. This comes in a glass bottle, and I also worry about dropping it espcially when my hands are slippery from product. LOL I really like it, but will only buy it when it's on sale. I can't justify spending over $30 on a mist that I could easily finish within a month. I also started using the Lacome Rose Milk Mist. I'm not really a fan on that one because it feels like I'm spraying my face with perfume. The fragrance is a lot, and I don't mind fragrance in my skincare. I'm going to use it up, but I don't see myself repurchasing it.

@sephoraaddict918 Thanks for sharing your insights about mists.  I enjoyed reading them!  I agree that some products are best on sale - LOL!  I do wonder how long the YTTP will last me.  At first I thought it'd last forever, but since I've been using it three times a day, I think I'll go through it more quickly.  Oh well.  I do love it so ❤️
