Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

GeorginaBT_0-1648483141832.png

Spring is here, BIC! 🌷 The weather in California has been warming up, and I’ve been loving every bit of it. My skin, on the other hand, has not been its happiest lately, so I’ve called in a few anti-acne reinforcements to help me out … and I’m ready to add other recommendations to my shopping list if anyone’s willing to share. 😉 I know I’m not the only one who’s started planning out my Spring Savings Event basket! For more basket-building inspo and details about this season’s promotion, check out Spring Savings Event 2022 Shopping Advice Thread: What’s in Your Basket?

These are the products I’ve been reaching for the most this month:

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

How does Chantecaille make everything they do look so attractive, @Sunnysmom? Even concealer! That Merit shade is gorgeous, too.  I have yet to dip my toes in their lipsticks, but I keep seeing them everywhere. Must be about time 🙂

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

Sadly so true isn’t it @eshoe ! 😭 And SMALL .
Yes. You. Do. You will love them!

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

Easy and done is a theme I can get behind @Sunnysmom! I totally get the need for speed sometimes. I haven't seen these Wander Beauty 2-in-1s - how handy! And I love the shades they come in. 😊

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

While I love a good slow makeup sesh I also appreciate being able to slap it on @GeorginaBT 😆 lol. I truly love this Wander stick and they way they melt into the skin so perfectly.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@Sunnysmom I've noticed that the CeraVe Healing Ointment has been hard to find as well.  That's one reason why I put off trying it for so very long.  It's so hard to tell with inventory these days what's really going on.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

So true @greeneyedgirl107 ! Figures doesn’t it. If it isn’t discontinued now it could also be the supply issue.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@Sunnysmom One problem I had for the longest time was that it was never in stock at Ulta when I wanted to use a coupon, or for a sale, or to give to the minimum for a GWP.  I'm actually surprised I ever got ahold of a tube at all!

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

All of those things seem to happen to me almost every time w Ulta @greeneyedgirl107 ! 😆 My CVS also had the big tubes I noticed.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@Sunnysmom CVS can have some nice goodies.  I pass one on my way home from work, as well at two Walgreens.  I keep meaning to kill some time and browse what they have, but all four of those stores are in inconvenient locations for me -- think of making too many lefts in or out!

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

They do @greeneyedgirl107 ! Really fun to browse their makeup depts with stuff all over to be discovered it seems! 😂 Oh no, I get that too! I wonder if that’s a common theme! For both stores in different locations as well. That’s nutty!

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@Sunnysmom  Nice monthly faves! You just reminded me that I have a DS/mini of ILIA Fullest Volumizing Mascara but still haven't tried it. If you've used ILIA Limitless Lash mascara, how does this newer one compare? (I love Limitless Lash for a "my lashes but better" look—or in my case, "hey, I do actually have lashes." 😂

I noticed last year that CeraVe Healing Ointment was suddenly harder to find in stores. Not sure what's up with that. Maybe CeraVe's reformulating it? I dunno. If you ever see the "baby" version in the light blue tube, it's got the same ingredients as the original. The little travel tubes of the original are very hard to find lately, even online sometimes. I have a big jar of it at home (sits beside my big jar of Aquaphor) so I've just been using that.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

Thanks @WinglessOne . I seem to like this mascara better due to the brush. I prefer a fluffy one to the harder plastic ones because I feel like I can layer it better and the other gets more clumpy to me. It’s also less wet so easier to manage. My lashes look soft and more natural vs too spidery. Sadly as I’ve gotten older my lashes seem to be so light and this little guy really brings them out both in color, volume and length. I do often use the new Wander upgraded mascara or ByTerry mascara lash boost first tho. I do a lot of coats also due to the darn spectacles. Lol And I’ve always also liked any fiber ones vs tube too.  (the Lorac fiber and Nars red and black are good as well I think. You try? Jones Road too 🤦🏻‍♀️). Let me know if you try it and your thoughts.

Oh man I’ll be sad if they discontinue the tiny tubes. Grr. I hoarded  a few of the medium size just to have them in case! A SA in Ulta did tell me she thought they were just OOS for a bit but I dunno. They aren’t even on site to be notified nor online. Ugh. I’ll def look for the blue tube too, many thanks! 🥰

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

Thanks for the mini review, @Sunnysmom! I'll put my mini tube in a prominent spot on my bathroom counter so I'll remember to try it.

Fiber mascaras are hit or miss for me: some of them irritate the heck outta my eyes. Tubing mascaras are usually gentler on my eyes. I've never tried Lorac's, but NARS Climax Mascara Explicit Black is one of the few mascaras that don't make my eyes burn, at least not for the first 5-6 hours of wear. I haven't used it in a while though. I also like the By Terry mascaras I've tried, including the colored ones (I have the blue and purple shades) that really need a lash primer underneath. My favorite primer's still Lancôme Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Primer .18 oz / 5.5 ml . I still haven't tried anything from Jones Road... I keep wanting to try one of their face pencils but I wish I could swatch somewhere in person to find the best shade(s) for me. Anyway, I'll look at JR's mascara. 🙂

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

I hear you on fiber mascaras @WinglessOne . They can be so tricky. I like the look of tubing ones but can’t remove them easily without freaking out I’ll lose lashes! I know they’re supposed to just come off so easily. Just never my experience. Ugh. I still don’t think I’ve tried Lancôme’s primer. 🤦🏻‍♀️I’ll have to. Do you have a Credo close to you? They have JR I think right? Unless not all products but I would think so.  I’m curious about those too. I can risk trying any of their other stuff but not those I don’t think! (I’m also curious about new face sticks from Jillian Dempsey, they look interesting!)

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@Sunnysmom  We do have a Credo in town. I forgot they carry JR now, thanks for the reminder! I'll see if they have the face pencils in stock.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

Me too @WinglessOne ! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Please report your findings and I’ll do same if I wander in store sometime.

I absolutely love the K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask 1.7 oz/ 50 mL and Saie Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer that I received from @ohheyitscindyk from the Galentines exchange. The K18 has made a huge difference and I really like the scent.  The Saie bronzer is so easy to blend and looks very natural. I usually always air dry my hair and JVN Complete Hydrating Air Dry Hair Styling Cream 5 oz/ 147 mL and JVN Complete Nourishing Hair Oil Shine Drops 1.7 oz/ 50 mL have been fantastic for shine and frizz control. I am in love with the new scent of Sol de Janeiro Mini Beija Flor™ Collagen-Boosting Elasti-Cream with Bio-Retinol and Squalane 2.5 oz/.... Thank you so much @eshoe for sending it to me! I got to test a travel size of Youth To The People Retinal + Niacinamide Youth Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL and I love it so much I already ordered a full size.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@faeriegirl

that new Sol de Janeiro scent is amazing!

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@faeriegirl hurrah!!! I received my promo yesterday and did not expect to fall in love, but I did. It reminds me of going into Dillards with my Mom.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

@eshoe I’m so glad that you like it too! I don’t normally use a neck and chest cream so I’m going to use it that way since it’s marketed towards anti aging.

Re: Monthly Favorites: March 2022 Edition!

Oooh that’s a great idea, @faeriegirl.. plus it makes it easier to enjoy the scent that way.
