Monthly Favorites: January 2025 Edition!

Hiya BIC, hope your year is off to a good start and January has treated you well! ✨ After some much needed rest over the holidays, I’ve been trying my best to ease back into the grind while taking special care of myself – s/o to our current 2025 Skincare Check-In Challenge: Week 3 - Try out tools! for the assist. 💆‍ The weather is now at its coldest where I’m at, so moisturizing and hydration have been my top concerns this month.

I also make it my business to smell great—ALWAYS—and would be remiss if I didn’t plug the new Glossier You Doux EDP. 😍 I recently added to my fragrance collection, and she has quickly become a go-to. It’s the perfect warm & cozy, skin-like scent and layers well with other fragrances and scented body butters/lotions. 12/10 recommend 🙌

I am so excited for this post because I got so many samples at sephoria and in my Revolve beauty advent calendar. I got to use so many products over the past couple of months and got to see their results and add them to my routine.

Here are my favorites right now:

1. Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C Cleansing oil: I use this every morning with a vitamin C serum and sunscreen and my skin feels fresh and hydrated through the day. I have noticed a decrease in redness and dark spots. Will definitely be repurchasing. 

2. Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Contour: I got this in the lightest shade and I love it. I've struggled with contour in the past bc i'm very fair so warm toned contours can be very overwhelming. This is the only truly cool toned liquid contour on the market (at least for my shade). Blends BEAUTIFULLY. I use more of it than i do the rare beauty liquid blush because the shade is so fair but still not a ton of product to get results. 

3. Makeup by Mario Ethereal Moonlight Palette: I love this palette i use it for every night out. There aren't a lot of cool toned palettes out there and this is amazing. It's so pigmented and blends so beautifully and effortlessly it's unbelievable. The sparkle shades are just perfect for the top shade of an eye look. They're straight sparkles so you don't have to worry about it throwing off the eye look underneath. It's a perfect sparkle top coat. 

4. Innbeauty Hydrating Serum: Just rebought this after I got it at sephoria. I use two pumps after my essence and before my retinol at night. It keeps my skin hydrated all through the night

5. Innisfree Vitamin C: between this and the dennis gross vitamin c cleanser my skin has never looked more even. I use it in the mornings after i was my face and before my sunscreen. I just rebought this after i ran out of the multitude of samples they gave out at sephoria. If you stay consistent, you will see results.

These are fantastic faves it’s cool to read about the new rare beauty contour! And the DG cleansing oil sounds so amazing do you use that to remove makeup? @courtneyyyyyyyf

Hi!! I use the drunk elephant cleansing balm to take my makeup off followed by the snail mucin gel cleanser. I use the DG in the morning to get my night skincare off and get my skin ready for the day!

I love how excited you are for these products @courtneyyyyyyyf 😍🎉 I really wish I'd picked up MAKEUP BY MARIO Ethereal Eyes Eyeshadow Palette: Moonlight.. The color story really looks phenomenal on that one. But you really don't get much fallout from the glitter shades?

Hi!! I don't get a lot of fallout from the glitter shades. I spray my dense eyeshadow brush with setting spray before dipping it into the glitter shadows, it helps me be more precise with putting it on and helps prevent the fallout of the glitter. Since starting that, I haven't had an issue with fallout but if you put it on with a dry brush it may have some fallout

@KhyleyBT I keep seeing Sienna Naturals make its way into peoples' favs and I still haven't tried them.  Are there other products that you like from them besides the Sienna Naturals Plant Power Damage Repair Strengthening Hair Mask 8 oz / 236 ml ?

I mentioned the Sienna Naturals Daily Elixir Scalp Treatment Oil 3 oz / 89 ml in my Monthly Favorites: November 2024 Edition! post, and then I also use the Sienna Naturals Hydrating H.A.P.I Shampoo 11 oz / 325 ml which is one of my favorite products from them. 😍 Call me an Issa Rae stan in TV, film & products haha 🧡

Been waiting for this thread because I'm pretty sure I missed December favorites and I most definitely wanted to rave about the Dieux Instant Angel Lipid & Peptide-Rich Moisturizer + Barrier Repair 3.3 fl oz / 100 ml I bought this on a whim and purchased the value size for my first purchase (ballsy, I know 😂) and this did not disappoint. It keeps my skin so moisturized during these colder months that I have not reached for my Biossance Vitamin C Rose Brightening and Firming Face Oil + Squalane 1.01 oz / 30 mL this year. Shocking!

Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Pure Hyaluronic Acid 1.5% Serum i absolutely LOVE this. Its thick but spreads well. Leaves this tacky feel but makes my skin feel oh so hydrated! I havent had any issues of applying makeup over. It makes me want to look into the other 2 serums...

OOH yes @PrettyPaint let me know if you do!!! I really tried it out on a whim since their ratings were pretty high but ended up loving everything so far! I am keeping my eye out on the Dieux Air Angel Collagen & Peptide Hydrating Gel Cream 2.53 oz / 75 ml for summer time when I'm more oily!

Me too @CynthieLu !! I actually have like 3 unopened benefit brow pencils that I bought a while ago because I've been cheating on them with Kosas.. but then I tried it again and fell right back in love 😂

I also have backups of the Benefit Cosmetics 24-HR Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel with Lamination Effect .23 / 7ml and the Benefit Cosmetics Mini Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel LOL do you also use it together?

This is a funny coincidence I dooo use the pencil with one of the ones you mentioned. I have some blonde, brown and grey *eep* hairs in my brows so I like using the Benefit Cosmetics Mini Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel too. 👌
