Monthly Favorites: February 2025

Hi there, BIC! Can you feel the love in the air? 💕 No, it’s not romance… it’s infatuation with all the fab products I’m falling for this February! And even though I’ve somehow managed to keep my spending in check this month (very out of character for me), I’m happy to say that I’ve done a pretty good job of finding new faves in my existing inventory to celebrate lately. Doesn’t it feel good to shop your own stash sometimes?! No judgement if you’ve done the opposite – I’d love to live vicariously through your new hauls. 😉

In February I was really loving Tinted brand luminizer. It's sort of oily but my skin is dry so it works out very well for me. I also enjoyed Lawless brand balm. I think I actually meant to get the lip oil but I enjoy the balm too. Loli detangler has been a new and used often find. Detangles my hair really fast and gives it a bit extra too. Topicals Like Butter moisturizer was wanted for a long time and has been used and enjoyed consistently since I found it on sale. I do wish it were a bit more moisturizing but my break outs are more controlled. 54 Thrones, Hanahana and Sol de Janeiro have been tops for body butters. Dior rose body sugar scrub really does what is claimed on my skin and I love it. Plus it smells sooo good. Even my bathroom smells great. I find it is a true luxury and I don't need much at a time. Phlur's Missing Person oil was a wonderful treat for February too!

@AlexBT  I had planned a better picture but life has been crazy! But here’s my February favs! 

 

where I live most of February was -30 to -40 and my skin was not happy. Even running my humidifier wasn’t enough!

Skinfix barrier+ Triple Lipid + Niacinamide Activating Serum and Skinfix barrier+ Strengthening and Moisturizing Triple Lipid-Peptide Refillable Cream with B-L3 helped saved my skin. I ran into an issue with a cleanser that stripped my skin raw and I needed to open a new moisturizer and I saw these and decided to test them out. I don’t think they beat out Rhode but they have been a nice treat! 

Salt & Stone Santal & Vetiver Aluminum-Free Clear Gel Deodorant for Sensitive Skin 2.6 oz / 75 g has been amazing! I tried the small size and on a whim I grabbed the full size and I am happy I did! 

L'Occitane Strengthening Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil  my hands have been so dry. This cuticle oil have been so moisturizing!! 

I was telling my coworker that Vicks was part of my skincare routine and she laughed at me. But it literally helped me sleep every night so I had to include it 😁

Good grief @ather , brrrr! 🥶 Vicks is the best, I get it!🤣  I’m so sorry you were so sick. Hope you’re on the mend? I need to check out this deodorant and the cuticle oil too! Great to hear you recommend! 💞

@Sunnysmom  Thank you! I finally have slept a few nights without coughing all night and now I seem to have caught another bug. Fingers crossed it doesn’t last to long!

Oh that is just the worst @ather I hope you’re taking good care of yourself and letting your family pamper you too! 🥰 There are so many bugs around right now it seems,  it’s just awful. Snuggle up with some tea! 🤗

@Sunnysmom  Thank you!! 😊 I have been getting the extra pampering! It has been lovely. Lucky the new bug seems to be leaving fast. So hopefully it doesn’t come back!!

That's darn cold @ather -30 and anything below is down right harsh. 🥶❄️ I hope you see warmer temperatures in your forecast soon. I haven't tried Rhode, you think it is more nourishing and protecting than skinfix? I'm very intrigued. 🧐

@CynthieLu  It did warm up! Today was only 3 but yesterday was 5! I enjoyed all the outdoor time this weekend!! Hmm I think the Rhode just works better for my skin. The SknFix is good but I almost feel it sits on my skin which was helpful when my skin was raw but everyday it may be to much for me. Where I feel like my skin takes in all the Rhode.

Those temps sound down right balmy to me, but if you aren't use to the cold I can understand your skin needing  help.  Glad you found something that worked @ather

It was a short but strong month for faves - a few tried-and-true beauties along with a couple of new releases to round out my favorites this month.

February 2025 Favorites

• Touchland Vanilla Velvet Power Essence Body & Hair Fragrance Mist Vanilla Velvet has a beautifully soft vanilla scent that lingers - a couple of spritzes to my wrist lasted 10+ hours❗
• Fashion Fair Lip Teasers Lip Gloss Supreme Brown is a lovely mix of red and brown and feels comfortable and lightly hydrating on the lips.
• Rhode Barrier Butter (can't tag it as it's not here ... yet) - this has a thicker consistency that does not feel heavy or leave my skin looking greasy; it's performed wonderfully as part of my evening skincare routine this winter. Pleased to hear this brand is on the road 😅 to Sephora. 
• LIGHTSAVER Tinted - Activated Mineral Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum - SPF 33 1.69 oz / 50 ml - I've been into tinted mineral sunscreens for a while now and I've been reaching for them earlier than usual this year. The lightweight, whipped consistency of this one from Lightsaver goes on smoothly and easily. The tint is just enough to reduce the appearance of some of my dark spots and redness. 
• ISAMAYA 5 Point Lift Color Correcting Concealer with Caffeine has been a surprise hit - it's lightweight and thin-ish without being too runny. I was able to find a good shade match to conceal and brighten my under eyes but would love to see that shade range expand just a bit more.

Not a beauty product that you wear but kudos to the Sephora concept and production team for the Faces of Music documentary (on Hulu). I was curious whether it would be similar to the format of Vogue's YT videos - while I love watching those videos, I was hoping for a different set up and Faces of Music did not disappoint @AlexBT. It was fun (and educational) to see the musicians get ready for their respective performances.

@itsfi Gorgeous pic - and love that you snuck in the Faces of Music!! 🎶 I agree that it's so fun to see more of that side of showbiz, especially for beauty lovers like us!

Isamaya has such fun components - I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Thank you @AlexBT, hoping to get in some more time to take photos. 📷  Yes, yes, it was great to see their getting ready process and hear their stories. I found myself going back a handful of times to try to catch a few products that were used. Do you think the Sephora team might release a list of the products that are shown in the segments? Or, maybe they have and I just haven't found it yet... 🤔 

The Lightsaver SPF is lovely; my tinted mineral sunscreen stash has grown a bit. I took the Lightsaver with me on a trip to Costa Rica last summer and it held up well. It's got a soft pale peach tint (not coming through in the pic) that does a nice job of helping to even skin tone / neutralize hyperpigmentation.

@jaaayp, lol, last I heard, Rhode is expected to be in Sephora in the latter half of the year, but I haven't been tracking or following if there's been any changes or updates since that was first floated about. Oh my goodness, I was suprised by the wear time on the Touchland Vanilla - mind you, those were easy going days and the scent did fade over the course of the day, but I could still pick up the scent. I tried the Peachy Lychee scent and it did not last as long.

I don't have Hulu but I hope to see Faces of Music maybe become available on other platforms @itsfi. That's a really neat idea for a documentary.
