Monthly Faves: April 2025!

Hiya, BIC! I hope spring shopping szn has been treating you well. 🌷🛍 It’s been busy over here at Sephora HQ – but don’t worry, I’ve still found time to walk over to the closest Sephora store on my lunch break to swatch all the latest beauty goodies IRL. Me? Obsessed? Yes, yes I am.

Even with all the fun store newness and Sephora Savings Event hauls to keep me entertained here on the BIC and on social, I found myself reaching more for my existing collection this month – and my April faves reflect that! Hydrated, sun-shielded skin, a simple slick-back, and a fool-proof blush have been the keys to my low-maintenance spring look. (Don’t ask me why it still takes me so long to get ready, though).

I'm curious to hear a little bit about your thoughts on the Shampoo and Conditioner from Fenty @Titian06 They've been good to you? 🩷🔎

@CynthieLu - I've been using the shampoo and conditioner twice a week for about a month.  My hair feels more moisturized and my waves are more defined.  It cleans very well if you lather rinse and repeat.  If you only shampoo once, it will leave you with dry-feeling hair.  The conditioner does not leave my hair feeling weighed down.

LOL, @CynthieLu !  My fave shampoo and conditioner are Verb Ghost Weightless Shampoo for Fine Hair and Verb Ghost Conditioner for Fine Hair .  For the past 5-ish years, I've been trying different products:   shampoos, conditioners, scrubs, detox, deep/masks, serums, to see if I could improve my fine, thin, wavy (and dry) unprocessed hair and dry, itchy scalp.  I always read the ingredients and was curious about a shampoo and conditioner with skin-identical ingredients and uses minimal, butters, oils, and essential oils.  Plus, they're vegan.

Thank you for indulging my curiousness @Titian06 🙏🩷 I have been a little intrigued by Fenty's hair care line, but not enough to stray from my current go to's. I'm ngl your description's are making me more curious. Do I remember you were trying out Vegamour a little while back ?

@CynthieLu - You're welcome!  I tried a foil sample of Vegamore shampoo and conditioner and have been using a deluxe sample of the leave-in.  I have been using amika The Kure Strength Repair Shampoo​, amika The Kure Strength Repair Conditioner​ 9.2 oz / 275 mL , adwoa beauty Baomint™ Moisturizing Shampoo , and adwoa beauty Melonberry Hair Milk Leave-In Conditioner 6.8 oz / 200 mL in addition to the Verb I mentioned earlier.

This month was kind of a whirl wind, wasn't it? And starting off with the Spring Sale too, it was a rush for sure. 🛍️🌪️ Some new goodness landed in my life. I'm taking about the gentle sweet scent of PHLUR Mini Heavy Cream Body and Hair Fragrance Mist 3 oz / 88.7 mL. It might not have a far reach but I love how sweet it is and that I can wear it out without it overpowering any sensitive noses I run into during the day. 

What else I've been reaching for this month: 

StriVectin Intensive Eye Cream Concentrate for Wrinkles PLUS 1 oz / 30 mL I've actually been using this for my dark circles and I feel like it's working well 💜

Peter Thomas Roth Peptide Skinjection™ Hydra-Gel Face and Eye Mask Patches for Expression Lines 60 p... 

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid TreatmentNow this is a definite skin smoother.👌A++

@CynthieLu  Great favs! That eye cream looks awesome, I am in the market for a new eye cream very soon! I forgot about those PTR patches. They are so good!

Thank you! I got these masks in a set of 3 different eye masks during the fall sale last year @ather. I hope they bring the set back again, it was such a good deal. 🙂

Ah, I love most of  Phlur's scents! The heavy cream sounds like a gourmand type of scent. Must be a fabulous aromatherapy for clothes, if it is a light scent 😍 @CynthieLu

@CynthieLu Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment is such an oldie but a goodie!  It's still one of my all-time fav skincare products.

I didn't think it would have impressed me so much but it really has grown on me. It's gentle enough for me and my skin can be fussy to say the least.

@CynthieLu  great faves! Phlur Heavy Cream sounds lovely, I will have to try to give it a sniff in store when I get the chance (still have to make another trip to my local Sephora to finish the tasks for the BIC Challenge!). How long would you say the scent lasts for?

It's a very subtle scent with a tiny amount projection imo @caitbird but when I use this on my body before bed or before work I can still get whiffs of it when I wake up or come home, I find for me it really lasts. Definitely a test before you buy scent. But I love it's sugar creamy sweetness.

It's a very sweet scent but gentle @PrettyPaint worth investigating in store when you have a chance. ❤️🍨

@CynthieLu Love these faves! Those PTR eye masks are new to me - I just wore the gold ones today (I keep them in my kitchen fridge, so I often forget they're there LOL)

I like the Kosas SPF, but as an oily girly I feel like I need to mix it with something more matte (like Supergoop! 100% Mineral Mattescreen Sunscreen SPF 40 1.5 oz/ 45 mL) to find a good custom middle ground for my skin. I don't know if mixing SPFs is technically advisable though so don't quote me on that! 😅

And yes we got custom lids at our employee event last October! Cute, right? 💎

They say April showers bring May flowers, so I am calling these faves "April Reign  Drops" as they reigned supreme and I picked them up during the sale and see myself using them into May @AlexBT
