Hey everyone! My name is Alissa. I've technically been a BIC for quite a while but hardly bought anything and never used the website. I'm wanting to get more into health and beauty this year and really take care of myself so I'm hoping to make use of being a beauty insider in the year to come. I'm excited to be here! As for splurging... I recently got a free sample of clinique's happy scent and I'm loving the smell. I would definitely love to formally buy it and am definitely considering it, but perfumes are so pricy and I am trying to budget. It's definitely something I'm thinking about though.

Welcome to BIC @Anonymous! Samples are a great way to try out a perfume before committing to a full size. Clinique Happy is a well named fragrance - bright, cheery; smells good!

Hi all! I'm Angela. Mid forties and just now developing an interest in skincare and makeup. I've always done the basics, but excited to go BEYOND basic. I think my splurge would be a really good makeup brush set. Any suggestions?

Welcome to BIC @Anonymous !  If you like natural hair brushes and want to make a longterm investment, you might enjoy Japanese handmade brushes. I’m a Chikuhodo fan, and I’ve recently become addicted to some Koyudo brushes. There are several Hakuhodo fans here on BIC, and lots of us also like Wayne Goss and Sonia G brushes. 

If you prefer synthetic bristles: for eyeshadows, you can’t go wrong with individual MAC brushes. Sephora Collection brushes (for eyes and face) are also nice. And Luxie brushes are the softest (but not uselessly floppy) synthetics I’ve ever used.

Welcome @Anonymous! I love brushes, too. Sephora has some good moderately priced options for eye brushes. I also really like sigma brushes.
