I love Game of Thrones and to be a part of Urban Decay's launch of this makeup collection is a once in a lifetime opportunity! This is the final season and what a way to get us makeup lovers even more involved in the show 🙂 . Thanks to Taylor @urbandecay who was so kind and nice enough to gift us the Game of Thrones eye shadow palette. As you all know, I am a total beginner in eye shadow but I cant wait to play with the colors in this set. It is huge and I wish I had multiple makeup rooms to display various brands with their beautiful packaging-especially this one. 🙂
Big, huge, massive Thanks to @TeamBIC .<3 ❤️ ❤️ 🙂 I didn't expect a slim chance to go to this event and I feel so grateful/privileged to have been selected!!! The excitement was hard to keep controlled during the day of the event with Team BIC cheering me on!! Oh, yeah, thanks so much for that!!!!
Skip to the end to see the swatches on my hand!

Now, onto the show... erm, party!
I arrived a little before 7, trying to find parking and saw there was already a line along the building. Well, they were efficient because by the time i found parking there was no line. I could tell it was going to be a busy night! You walked in and were greeted with fancy goblets of wine or champagne. On either side of the entrance were 4 tables showcasing the entire collection in front of huge mirrors. A lot of people were taking selfies there. Then, there was a red carpet area (OMG!)and a grand staircase you could take pictures at. With the Urban Decay and Game of thrones logo in the background, it really felt like you were at the premier of a Game of Thrones season premiere 😉 .

Couldn't see with the fog

Once we were done taking pictures, we passed by the open bar, but it was already busy, haha. The dance floor was crowded as well where the DJ played some tunes. My eyes traveled to the left corner and I spotted the Iron Throne!!! People were taking pictures on the throne, woot! I saw a line form against one wall of the room and there were already a lot of people. When I say wall, I mean literally, THE WALL!!! It was only 7 feet high, but still!!! They did a really nice job of the decor in this ballroom! 🙂
Later on, they also had little appetizers like Ceviche and white cheddar-filled pretzels that looked like little fingers. Plus, blue, cream cheese cupcakes, yum. I only managed to snag a few as people swarmed in to get their fill. It also seemed like the servers just wanted to serve food to the hot women they saw. I even witnessed one guy server make a beeline to a lady and exclaimed , "I saved this for you!" It gave me Little- Finger-being-sweet-to-Sansa vibes...to put it mildly :).

Anyway, the line wrapped around the wall and a large cordoned off area scattered with tables and Weirwood-esque trees. So basically the end of the line was where the "room" started. It was interesting to see people posing in their fine dresses and some people were even dressed in sweat pants! That's some LA Chic there, LOL! At one point there was a group of 4 friends all balancing on top of the throne, haha.

They were filming throughout the night

We were halfway through the line when some employees started asking, Are you waiting for the Tarot Cards or the throne? If you answered the Throne they redirected you to a different line 2 ft away. I was so intrigued by the Tarot Cards, I stayed where I was. I'm glad I did! It definitely was a longer waiting time than the throne, but the time passed quickly by while talking to an @urbandecay employee, Carol. She started the conversation and asked me if I was a Beauty Influencer!! That really made my night but I promptly told her no and that I was from Sephora BIC. She was trying to find out where all these people came from. There were at least 150+ people there from what I could see. While talking with her, I found out that Urban Decay is based in Orange County in the city of Newport Beach. Who knew I lived in the same County all this time 🙂 . That is very generous of Urban Decay to also invite their employees to this launch. It seems like a good, big company to work for. Well, Carol got called up for her reading and our conversation ended.

I was super excited to be next, as it was my first time getting my Tarot cards read. It was a great experience! I won't say exactly what was told but it was very positive and enlightening. I wish they had passed out some Tarot cards as souvenirs because they were all designed with Game of Thrones Characters! Mine were Little Finger, The Map of Westeros and Arya :). The cards were so in sync with what I looked forward to in the collection. I really, really, really, want Needle for an eye shadow brush :). Ah, but the highlight of the Tarot reading was at the end when the fortune teller gave me a set of Game of Thrones and UD Pins!!! Squee!! ❤️ ❤️ <3. I know when Urban decay posted on Instagram, they showed a 4 pin set and EVERYONE was asking if it would be included in the collection. I'm so stoked to have this collectors item!

Good News!
Now, it was time to wait to be become Queen Daenerys for 2 minutes, lol. While waiting, I admired the ballroom and the balconies of purple/blue light. I could see some Urban Decay employees walking along the balconies but we weren't allowed up there :). Occasionally there would be shadow Dragons flying around the walls. And, you can't have a Game of Thrones party without the music! Every time the DJ played the theme song, the conversation got softer as everyone would enjoy the music and air guitar along (mimicking violins) 🙂 It was a treat to sit in that Throne and made me feel very Regal. The photo op included a take-home mini portrait, in addition to getting it emailed or texted. This was really cool but too bad you could only take 1 picture :).

Trying to channel Cersei, lol

After that, we headed to one of the bars and had some Pinot Grigio and Champagne. We finished the 1st round of drinks and I went to check out the 1st bar and they had some great hard liquor drinks. I really wanted to try the Bay of Dragons but they ran out. So I drank the Winterfell. OOOHweeee, that is some strong drink that I really enjoyed. Here is the menu:

Before we knew it, the event was over and I met with Taylor who gave a great goody bag. When we left, it was past 10 but people were still loving the red carpet and staircase. Also, the dance floor was still kicking it with a few people getting their moves on 🙂 . Please excuse the dark pictures but hey, that's the pitfall of having a Medieval Castle ambiance. Imagine how they dealt with little light in those days?! All in all, it was a wonderful experience to meet new people and see first hand what was going to be in the collection. I cant wait to try the palette out! :).
