Just wanted to drop in here and update on my experience at this event! The event inside Sephora was very nicely set up. There were a row of seats labelled "reserved" which were meant for us. SA's came around to register us on the iPads.
I arrived around 1:30pm since they were doing a skin consultation for us to help pick out which Caudalie products each of us would use during the masterclass. They used a device that measured pore depth and hydration levels. I really like how they customized the skincare routine for us. I turned out to be combination skin so they wrote this on my mirror.
Each seat came complete with a placemat with the steps to the Caudalie skincare routine, a sheet for notes, a sealed headband, mask brush, jade roller, and the customized products that the SA's were switching around for us. I was also very pleased with how hygienic everything was. All the products we used at the event were brand new with the seal on them. That really put me at ease when using them.
1) Cleanse: 3 pumps of Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil + 1-2 pumps Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser
- Mathilde likes to combine these products to act as a double cleanse while saving time rather than using the one after another
- This removed my makeup pretty quickly and I was bare-faced in no time!
2) Treat: Instant Detox Mask
- I applied this using the mask brush provided and I thought I put a fair amount on... not sure if the product was getting absorbed in the brush, but a Sephora SA came by and kindly told me the mask should be thicker (he squeezed a huge amount onto my hand and said "don't be afraid to use more, it's on us!" shoutout to the Sephora SA with spacers haha)
- After the mask started to dry, I was shocked to see all the pores that the mask surfaced! Not sure if you can see in the pics below, but it looked like I was sprinkled with dots all over my nose and inner cheeks
- The darker spot on my cheek is because I was starting to take off the mask. Mathilde was saying that this mask is one of the tougher ones to take off and recommended spraying a couple spritzes of the beauty elixir to help with removal. One of the SA's helped me with this and gave my face a good 10 spritzes
3) Vinoperfect Glycolic Brightening Essence
- after this class, I think I've been using essence wrong my entire life. Mathilde puts a generous amount into her palm, then says to pat it into the skin
4) Hydrate: Skin Perfecting Serum (new in acne line) on t-zone and Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum for the rest of the face for hydration
- We used the jade-rollers to help the serums sink in. Mathilde taught us to roll it horizontally
5) Moisturizer: Skin Perfecting Mattifying Fluid (new) and Premier Ecru eye cream
- The moisturizer balled up slightly after application so I'm not sure how well this would work under makeup... will need to try the deluxe in the goodie bag some more to see if this continues
6) Mist: Beauty Elixir
- Mathilde says this is a setting spray, but also good for spritzing whenever the skin needs extra hydration. Mathilde herself sprayed this on herself a couple times during the event 😉
As the event was wrapping up, an SA came to each of us asking if we were BIC members, saying that the gift is specifically for us so didn't want to announce it to everyone at the event. I thought it was great how organized the event was - there was clearly communication between the store and BIC organizers 🙂
I got to meet fellow BIC member @beautyqueen and her lovely grandmother (she has the sweetest smile!) at this event! They were such great company and really added to this amazing experience. Here's us with our goodie bags!
All in all, this Caudalie Yorkdale Masterclass was outstanding. I felt so pampered and the event far exceeded my expectations! Two thumbs up to the amazing team at Sephora Yorkdale! ❤️
