moisturizer after a chemical peel?

I had a jessner's peel on Friday and I'm peeling like an onion today. This is good, but my face feels really tight and uncomfortable. My dermatologist said that i shouldn't use any of my usual anti-aging moisturizers for a couple weeks--nothing with glycolic acid, retinol, etc. So I've been using a PTR sample I had of Water Drench Cloud Cream and it's not really helping. My skin soaks it right up, and then I feel dry again in minutes. I've never used one, but I'm wondering if i need some kind of oil? Has anyone else done a peel like this? What worked for you?

Re: moisturizer after a chemical peel?

Maybe try a hydrating mask too? The last time I had a peel I had to slather on the moisturizer for multiple days in a row before it started to subside.

@dodlebird What kind of face wash are you using? You may be using something with ingredients that are too harsh post-peel. My suggestion is to use Cetaphil facial cleanser and moisturizer. You can buy travel-sized for a few bucks. And apply hydrocortisone to the itchy dry areas up to 4 times a day. Usually after a Jessner peel you can return to your normal routine after 5-7 days.

yep, I'm only using Cetaphil to wash. I'll have to check out their moisturizer, I didn't realize they sold that, too, thanks!
