looking for a quality micellar water

I had been using Garnier waterproof micellar water and it seemed to be working just fine. I wanted to try a "higer end" that wouldn't kill my bank. I got Sephoras Original micellar water but it makes my eyes sting something crazy for hours after using. help! I use Farmacy green clean and Gental Day exfoliator cleanser for my face.. I am just looking for a quick eyemakeup remover. preferably no rinse.

RE: looking for a quality micellar water

Bioderma pink cap or Reversa’s micellar water (available in Canada only I believe). Those are my holy grails for sensitive skin.

Re: looking for a quality micellar water

@valie777 I've actually had really good luck with the Garnier micellar water. I use the sensitive version. I have a sample of the Bioderma, but my skin did not like it at all. I actually broke out a bit from it.

Re: looking for a quality micellar water

Hi @valie777, I love micellar water and have sensitive eyes, so I'll let you know my personal experiences, if that helps. Bioderma (pink cap) is by far my favorite. It removes the best, doesn't irritate my eyes, doesn't dry my skin, and is fragrance-free. Koh Gen Do is similarly gentle, but a bit less effective at eyeliner removal. Simple is effective as the Koh Gen Do, but it dries my skin and can sting if I try too long to get out mascara. La Roshe Posay is very nice, but it is quite scented which is a deal breaker for me, my eyes get itchy. I hope you find one that works for you!

@valie777 I use the Bioderma with the pink cap. It’s a classic and works like a dream.

Re: looking for a quality micellar water

I second this! the Bioderma one is by far my favorite

Re: looking for a quality micellar water

@valie777 I'm not sure if it's micellar water, or what it is exactly (things I should know!) but I often use Son & Park Beauty Water to remove makeup, especially leftover eyeliner and mascara. I use a dampened cotton square to gentle wipe above and below my eyes. The beauty water is super gentle with no reaction at all from my eyes. I also use it to tone but that's an extra perk!

Re: looking for a quality micellar water

Bioderma and Klorane make really great quality micellar water that are gentle on the eyes.

You may try simple micellar water as well. I used to use garnier but switched to micellar. It has niacinamide..

Re: looking for a quality micellar water

@valie777
You could try a sherbert type cleanser. I have heard really good things about Clinique Take the Day Off Balm. Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup remover is a classic too.

And if you want to go to current cult classic first step sherbert cleanser, Heimish All Clean balm. I don't think Sephora has it though.

They're not micellar waters, but each has had popular followings for good reason. Otherwise, I'd say stick to what worked best for you!
