CLINIQUE - Fresh Pressed 7-day System with Pure Vitamin C
I heard this works wonders and that people have seen progress very quickly
plus buying one wont break the bank like most sephora products
@gwenpool I have tried ole henriksen truth serum and drunk elephant c-firma. They both work really well but I like the C-firma better.
I have been using Revision's Vitamin C Serum and i LOVED it. It was great at helping fade discoloration and brighten. Unfortunately, it is pricey and not available at Sephora. I loved that it was quickly-absorbing and almost matte-like. I had heard really good things about the Drunk Elephant Firma Serum. I am a fan of Drunk Elephant, but I think I am going to have to return this serum. It was way too oily for under my makeup and I like to use this under my makeup daily. Does anyone have suggestions for a non-greasy, fast-absorbing Vitamin C serum that helps with tone/discoloration and texture?
Skinceuticals C E Ferulic is the absolute best I've tried, I like it way more than my Drunk Elephant C-Firma - however, the price is outrageously high.
I have used the Drunk Elephant Vitamin C in the past and did well with it, but it just sort of peetered out for me. It seemed to go bad faster than I could use it up as well (even with the opaque covering!). I have since switched over to Sunday Riley's CEO and it's doing a great job. At first, I was concerned it would be too thick under the rest of my skincare and makeup, but it absorbs very quickly. Really gets the job done.
Drunk Elephant C-Firma is amazing. Has Vitamins C, E and Ferulic Acid and is packaged in opaque airtight packaging.
I do like OH's Truth Serum for a general glow, but it didn't do much for my stubborn acne discolorations, unfortunately. The best vitamin C that I've tried is the T'iam My C-Source. It's not available at Sephora, but it did wonders on helping to lighten and erase a lot of my post-acne scarring.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Rise + Glow™ Duo
I mix these 2 together, as stated in the directions, and the results have been great! Most of my acne scars have faded Just need patience to see results.
Other popular options include OleHenriksen, Timeless, The Ordinary, Mad Hippie vitamin C, Lab Muffin's DIY vitamin C serum
Timeless skincare! It comes in a dropper but it is by far the best. You probably know all this but for others: The only stable form of vitamin c that has research to back it up is l-ascorbic acid, and it needs to have not been exposed to much heat and light to have efficacy. You can tell by the color: if it’s clear it’s at 100% efficacy, if it’s really yellow and opaque it is at maybe 80% efficacy.
The efficacy is increased by adding vitamin E and férulic acid in certain percentages.
Very few companies sell a serum that meets all these qualifications As far as I know, it’s only drunk elephant, Skinceuticals, and timeless skincare. The drunk elephant serum contains an ingredient that makes the serum yellow, so you can’t know if it has lost its efficacy. Skinceuticals costs an obscene amount of money. But the timeless skincare version is the same thing (the Skinceuticals patent expired) and it costs 25 dollars with free shipping. And you can find discount codes for five off. And it comes in a dark bottle, and they will refund your money if it isn’t good after I think three months?
That’s the only one I would pay money for.
and what do you think about Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C serum? it has a ferulic acid in it too.
It doesn't contain l-ascorbic aside, it contains THD Ascorbate, which has far fewer studies to back it up. Plus, it is insanely expensive. And personally, it irritates my skin more than the timeless skincare.
I love Drunk Elephant C Firma and would highly recommend it. However, it's quite pricy. If you want a budget friendly Vitamin C I would recommend The Ordinary Vitamin C. It works well.
With all Vit C I would recommend starting out a few times a week and then working your way up to daily use. Also, be sure to use a good sunscreen and do not ever depend on the SPF in your foundation or moisturizer. It's not enough.
@gwenpool I rec reading beautypedia's "best of" list for Vitamin C products. They have some nice ones 🙂
