The Ordinary Buffet flaking

Hey! 

Has anyone experienced flaking problems with The Ordinary Buffet? I recently bought some of their products and today, I tried the Buffet. It feels comfortable but it flakes like crazy before I even try to put on makeup, and also as I am trying to put on foundation. Is there a way to eliminate that? Anyone experienced flaking problems with other products too?  Thanks!

I use Buffet every morning. Sometimes I layer a second serum over it. I always use moisturizer and a sunscreen. 

Buffet has flaked/pilled on me only twice. The first time, I used too much of it. The second time, I was rushing and didn’t give it enough time to absorb before applying anything (another serum or moisturizer) over it. For my skin, Buffet needs at least 3 minutes to fully absorb. Then I can apply another serum over it, or put moisturizer over it, with no flaking/pilling.

I use Buffet and I haven't had this problem. Are you layering it over another serum or have you used another product or primer underneath? @Tina168

No, I sprayed a really light toner mist first. Then I used the Buffet, then Clarins Multi active day cream. I waited about an hour before I put on my foundation (MAC lightful C tinted cream). I even use it in a patting motion instead of rubbing and it still flaked so much so that I had to rub the flakes and makeup off with my sponge.

Perhaps the toner mist needs more time to sink in- I'd try giving that a few minutes before layering the buffet.  I only use 3 drops on my face as I found the one time I tried more along with 2 other serums it pilled (too many products on my face).  I also concur with leaving the Buffet sink in for a few minutes before adding the moisturizer.  Hope that helps. When I used this problem, I did not have an issue with flaking.

Maybe it doesn’t sit well under your moisturizer? They way I check that is by mixing a small bit of moisturizer and serum on the back of my hand. If they mix together well, then they’re good. But if they glob up into a mess, I might try using a different moisturizer or serum.
