Textured skin/tiny pimples

Hello friends! I am looking for some skin care help. I have always struggled with having decently clear skin from far away but close up having tiny bumps/pimples on my face. I am pretty good about washing my face regularly, not wearing makeup, and using the ordinary AHA/BHA peel once a week. What else can I add into my skincare routine? I am interested in the derma-e brand from target but will take any suggestions! I have included a couple pictures of my skin 🙂

Re: Textured skin/tiny pimples

Hello,

I noticed that you said you have dry skin. I suggest you to only cleanse your face at the end of the day, keep it to once a day. Even when waking up, it is not necessary to clean your face with face-cleanser or any product. Plain water is perfectly fine. cleansing your face more than you need to, especially for dry skin, can strip you of natural skin oils, leading your skin to overcompensate and cause pimples. Don't worry! Just remember to regularly clean your sheets, especially the pillow case, and change any hairstyle that may touch your face unnecessarily (bangs).

One item to add: a face oil! It may sound counter intuitive, but it help in keeping skin oils in check, and replenish dry skin's lacking oils, preventing these small bumps from even having a reason to appear, unless there is an underlying health issue. Get a thin oil, the most biocompatible, and least-likely to cause you issues is squalane oil (check out The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane 1 oz/ 30 mL ). It absorbs wonderfully and quick, so you won't feel sticky.

Finally, it may be possible that you are just not working your cleanser in enough on a daily basis, leaving your skin to only rely on the weekly aha/bha peel. It is important to be gentle, but not so gentle that the face isn't being well cleansed. I use a Foreo, but you can resemble the effect by rubbing your cleanser against your face for a good minute or two, firmly, but with enough product so you don't drag the skin.

These don't seem so terrible as I've seen before, I believe lifestyle changes, oil balance, and good cleansing techniques will clear this up. Good Luck~

To be honest,

Thank you so much!!!

Try the Ordinary Azelaic suspension. I noticed a difference in ONE DAY!

Salicylic Acid is a medical ingredient!

Re: Textured skin/tiny pimples

I know you mentioned a couple of things in your post, but what is your current complete routine, @kait1908? Would you say your skin is oily, dry, combo, or normal?

RE: Re: Textured skin/tiny pimples

I wash my face using purity facial cleanser, and use neutrogena water gel moisturizer daily. I then use the ordinary AHA/BHA once a week. I only wear makeup on special occasions also. I’ve always thought I had pretty dry skin, but since I’ve stopped wearing makeup I’ve begun to think that maybe I have combination! Hope this helps 🙂

Re: RE: Re: Textured skin/tiny pimples

The Purity cleanser is one of my faves, @kait1908! So, to help with the congestion, I would suggest adding in an AHA several times a week. But before you can do that, you'll need to have a sunscreen in place because AHAs can make your skin more susceptible to sun damage. I lean more oily, so hopefully someone else can help with a good recommendation for the sunscreen. Once you do have that in place though, I'd recommend maybe starting with the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads 28 Pads. They are gentle but effective.  You also *may* want to consider a different moisturizer. Gel moisturizers tend to be lighter and more suitable for oily skin, but if you're combo/dry you may need more oomph.

Re: Textured skin/tiny pimples

@kait1908  I’m in Canada so we don’t have target. But I’ve struggled with adult acne and textured skin for awhile now. I recently tried SEPHORA COLLECTION Clarifying Peel Pads 60 Pads   and Ive definitely noticed a huge difference in my skin. My texture is pretty much gone and I’m not even getting any acne. Definitely a game changer for me.
