Summer is my favorite time of year, by far! It's sunny and usually full of fun outdoor activities and maybe even trips to tropical destinations if we’re lucky enough!
Summer is also the season of SPF so in celebration of summer, we thought it would be fun to play a (virtual) game of tag! I’m going to start the game below and share the rules for how to play:
Oh and if you haven’t been tagged yet but are really excited about sunscreen go ahead and share your faves below!
*Make sure you're @mentioning the person you want to tag so they get a notification!
@Anonymous It depends on how fast you drive since much of the route has an 80mph speed limit, and it's not uncommon to see many people driving 90mph! You can make it there in less than six hours from Central Texas.
@Anonymous First of all, while driving in West Texas, fill up your car with gas whenever you can because you never know when you'll find the next gas station! Trust me. We thought we had plenty of gas when we headed from Marfa to Valentine to see the Prada Marfa art installation. We didn't. We stopped at a tiny post office, where the lone employee pointed us to a house across the street, where a school employee took us to the place where they fill up buses and was kind enough to sell us gas.
Go to Marfa for a weekend and enjoy the absurd blend of coastal hipsters and families who have lived in Marfa for generations. The restaurants open whenever they want, and it can be difficult to find food in the middle of the week. Spend the day checking out Alpine and Fort Davis, which are more traditional Texas towns nearby. Head to the McDonald Observatory for a Star Party, where you can look through huge telescopes and see all the planets. Then head back to Marfa to get a late night grilled cheese and catch some live music in the desert air.
If you're fancy, stay at the gorgeous Hotel Paisano. Or go glamping at El Cosmico. You can rough it by bringing your own tent, but you can also stay in a furnished teepee or yurt, where you'll have electricity and a nice bed.
Fun in the sun!!
1) I practically live at the beach so sunscreen is a big must!
2) For my body I use Sun Bum spf 30 sunscreen spray. For my face Dr Jart Every Sun Day UV Sun Fluid SPF 30 or my favorite Cover FX Clear cover invisible sunscreen.
3) Come and play @ElleElleG @candacebt @Blackwhiskey 😄 😄 😄
Haha, I get it now 🙂 Thanks for the tag @unfungirl 🙂
I've got a typical asian mum with great skin who never met a giant hat she didn't like, so sunscreen is almost a life necessity. I prefer chemical SPF's when I'm not going to be outside much (yes, I wear SPF indoors...) and then either physical or chemical when I'm out and about. Current faves are Neogen SPF 50 for my face (I've even turned my mum onto this one) and anything Neutrogena or Shiseido for my body. Even while wearing SPF 50+, I manage to tan several shades darker, but luckily not burn.
A couple of years ago I was on vacation in Rio de Janeiro and wore Neutrogena SPF 70 the entire time. My friends made fun of me mercilessly (are you afraid the sun won't set?!) but I was the only one that escaped that week burn free 🙂
Tagging @txcatx, @greenchilli, @NotCrocker
thanks for the tag @prettyinpa @Randell! what a fun topic!
i work outdoors most of the time, and spend most of my time in the sun all year round, so i've tried LOTS of sunscreens! i was never that consistent with using sunscreen until i turned 30, but it's become part of my daily routine now.
i have combo-oily skin in summer, and in the winter i'm combo-dry, so i have favorites for each season. in the summer i like supergoop every day sunscreen and defense refresh setting mist, colorsceince sunforgettable loose mineral sunscreen brush, and the coola sport sunscreen. my skin likes mineral sunscreens best, and most natural brands are cruelty free as well! i reapply my sunscreen often in the summer as i sweat so much, so the portability of the supergoop mist and colorscience is so convenient.
in the winter i like tarte tarteguard, josie maran argan daily moisturizer/sunscreen and farmacy green screen.
my favorite summer getaway is anywhere with a beach! virginia beach and any beach is california are lovely. i also love hiking! the red river gorge is close to me, and so amazing.
i'm tagging @Beadshopgirl @MissPuff @trishavt and @ElleElleG ❤️
Thanks for the tag @unfungirl. I am a pasty pale gal who burns in winter, so I don't need to go anywhere special to require daily sunscreen! My favourite is Tarteguard for my face, and Live Clean brand or Alba Botanica for body. I always make sure to apply to my hands before I drive too. I'm losing track of people who have been tagged... @Anonymous
Oh @unfungirl I forgot about the Tarteguard! I love that stuff! I have the itsy bitsy ds that are always in my purse. For when my ears or some spot I missed starts turning red!
Ohhhh - This is a fun game! Thanks for the tag! @niki172
1. Miami and the Keys is a frequent destination for us because it's not too far away and my in-laws have a condo we can use in southern Florida, but I love any kind of beach! 🌞🌴🐬
2. For my face, I prefer either PTR Max UV Milk or Clarins UV Plus. For my body, I go old school and break out the Hawaiian Tropic because I LOVE the coconut scent. I also use Sun Bum SPF Lip Balm and also like their sunscreen for my body.
3. Tagging @Mcakes @luvgloss13 @darkiceis
Hawaii is my fav summer getaway 🙂 I love Glossier's sunscreen for every day use. For days when I'm out and about doing something active, I like Coola's unscented sprays.
@sunnyseas I really want to try the glossier sunscreen! I'm a fan of their products ❤️
Thanks for the tag @veronika23!
My fav summer (and every other season) getaway is Disneyland.
And, I've already put all of my sunscreen to good use.
I'm tagging @alexasteph @MSena @unfungirl
I am so excited because my fav Supergoop! came out with a 100% mineral sunscreen mist!!! http://www.sephora.com/100-mineral-sunscreen-mist-with-marigold-extract-broad-spectrum-spf-30-P42234...
My favorite sunscreens are 'physical' sunscreens like Shiseido's Wetforce. They just added a sensitive skin/children's version.
I also use hybrids, like Clarin's UV Plus Broad Spectrum.
For days where I have to constantly reapply, I love Supergoop sprays or their new mousse.

Thanks for the tag @KatieBT! 😘🌞
My summertime getaways with the kids consists of local parks, the beach, cottages and ofcourse alot of trips to the amusement/water parks!
I have a collection of different sunscreens depending where I will be, but my everyday/year round now is Tarteguard spf 30 since it acts like a moisturizer as well. My outdoors non activity sunscreen is clinique broadspectrum spf 50 for face and for fun under the sun which is also water resistant is Shiseido wetforce Spf 50. I quite like the murad one for doubling up as primer for any day time events when I need a full face on. I also recently ordered a Japanese version of biore spf 50, and I have been loving how light weight it is and dries super fast sans white cast!

Thanks for tagging me @Anewxa! ❤️
I love going to parks, kayaking, and outdoor pools in the summer! I've been using La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light and love the non-greasy formula. I also love the Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen from the drugstore. I need to try the Tarte! I've been spending way too much time in the sun this year. In Canada when you barely have a summer, you want to soak up all the sun's rays =D
Unsure of who hasn't been tagged yet- so will update!
Cute Game @KatieBT!
1. Whenever I go to Barbados I am a bit of a freak about SPF because the Caribbean sun will absolutely give me sunburn.
2. For my face with no makeup, I like Drunk Elephants SPF. It doesn't seem to break me out like other's do. Another favorite is Neutrogena's sunscreen for the face. If I'm wearing makeup, I like Tom Ford's SPF50 Primer. I tend to use this more stateside if I'm going to be out and about and I am wearing makeup. For the body, I really like Palmers Sunscreen. It also has Cocoa Butter and goes on so smoothly.
3. I'll tag my squad @Anonymous @Zpsid91 @Sprytely @greenchilli @Grahamcrackers @TriesToBoClassy @michelleshops
This is a neat thread, @KatieBT!
1. I burn really easily, so anywhere I go (even just for a hike) requires SPF! But for my absolute favourite, let's go with Disney ❤️
2. I have been won over with La Roche Posay Anthelios. It protects my skin well and wears perfectly under my makeup, even in the summer. Plus it's what my derm recommended for me.

Thanks for the tag @lachaton! 😉
OK, true confession here. I am the laziest person in the world when it comes to sunscreen. I'll put it on when the family goes to an amusement park or when I know we'll be outside for an extended period, but I always forget when I go outside to garden or something. My bad. And I know I should because I burn like a lobster. Anyways...
1. Favorite place that requires sunscreen - New Orleans! Love that place and I spent my honeymoon there, too. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
2. Favorite sunscreen is anything by Neutrogena. I like both the sprays and the creams and we buy the stuff in bulk at BJs (because I have three very pasty children who burn, too). Nothing less than 50 spf and usually 70 if it's there.
3. Sorry, had to go on the desktop to edit my reply. Tagging @blackkitty2014 @k617 @kbmatthews
Thx you for the tag @jozkid. Edit: i want to tell you i love New Orleans. I went there with a group of friends around Mardi Gras 15-17 yrs back. Wild ...it was wild. 😉
1) Whenever anybody mentions sunscreen, i just think of a beach vacation. I dont travel as much as i would like too and i had only been in couple beach places in Mexico, Costa Rica, Florida and Hawaii. (I'm not counting Southern CA since i'm from there). I think my favorite beach vacation is on Big Island, Hawaii. It is my favorite Hawaiian island and i plan to take my family there again. Fun story: i talk to my little toddler about it every since he's a baby and he knows how to pick it out on the Hawaiian island map once he was probably 16-17 month old. As for my hubby and i, we are still in disagreement of which island we should have a second home if we ever win lottery. 😉
2) I don't like sun screen to be honest but my BB/CC/foundation always have SFP 25+. For the face, i like the AmorePacific Age Correcting Foundation Cushion Board Spectrum. For body, i just use Banana Boat for baby (The one i used on my last vacation was SPF50)
3) I'm tagging @blueviolet21, @SDdenm, and @Madeline7 since they are always so sweet and i havent seen anybody tags them yet 😉
