Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

Hello all, I am very interested in getting this product. Has anyone tried it before in this group? thoughts?

Re: Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

I've only tried the older formula, @Kalie1245. I haven't had a chance to try a sample of the new formula (in Canada at least they had to change). The old version, I loved though. It made my skin so soft and reduces redness a bit. It's a lower strength retinol, so great for starting slow. The scent isn't for everyone (my partner says it smells like tea). A similar strength of product for my skin is the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum. They both provide a bit skin resurfacing help, slowly. The Biossance has more soothing formula, and a retinol alternative, so if you have retinol sensitivity, it could be a good alternative. Each brand has small kits to get both of these products to test. Good luck!

I will definitely be looking into that one. What was your thoughts on the bottle. I read things on the difficulty getting all the product out.

That's where I can't help, unfortunately. I've gone through deluxe sample sizes of the Biossance, so haven't used the full sized. I recommend getting smaller sizes to test first, though. I also tend to bust open my products to make sure I get the last bit, even if I have to repot it into a different container. Good luck, @Kalie1245!!

Re: Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

Hi @Kalie1245 - Luna is a staple product for me. I was first introduced to it in a Sephora Favorites Sleep kit and after finishing that up, had to go purchase it. There’s a small kit to try it SUNDAY RILEY - Multivitamins Set first. I also like their CEO vitamin C product so this kit is great. My skin just looks much better the next day after I use it.  But I also like to exfoliate and try not to do both on the same night - even though many people use Good Genes with Luna, I alternate. I also don’t like Good Genes but trying to through some samples I got of it.  It works but so do other products whereas I haven’t found an alternative for Luna.

Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

Hey! I'm a big Sunday fan. I actually use Luna on top of the A+ then the next morn apply Good Genes. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is dewy and my pores minimized. I use about 3-4 drops of Luna, and have not experienced the oily residue. I usually massage it in pretty well then place a moisturizer on top. The only thing I'm guilty of is not always washing my face at night but the times I am consistent I notice a difference.

RE: Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

I tried it many years ago. It made me breakout terribly. I tried to keep using it to see if it was just a new product purge but that wasn’t the case. Some really enjoy the product. I would recommend finding a travel size to try out first

Re: Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

@Kalie1245  I tried it when it was initially launched and was extremely hyped and it turned out horrible for me. Made my oily skin extremely oily that I would drip oil even during the day time when I wasn’t wearing it. Many other people with oily to combo skin had same problem. It took a long time for my skin to rebalance after discontinuing the use.
Only Retinol product that actually produced result for me is DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream. It is available in travel size as well so you can try to see how you like it before investing in full size.

how long does that one last you? I did look at that one, just noticed the small size.

RE: Sunday Riley - Luna Retinol Night Oil

I have been using it for about a month or so. The only noticeable difference i have found so far is that it slightly will bring down inflammation from acne. I really don’t enjoy the smell and i find that it’s a bit too oily for my combo skin.
