We all have our skincare stories, journeys, adventures, and even nightmares. We like to read about skincare, we like to talk skincare. Do you want to share your skincare journey? Concerns you want to address, and the way you address them? Personal challenges? Products you use? Products you want to try? Results? Get something off your chests? Are you happy with where your skin is at? Do you want to talk about it all, or just "keep a diary" and compare notes? This is the place then to share your skincare stories, or any thoughts on anything skincare you feel like sharing, personal or in general. Skincare diaries will take it all.
We already have many great skincare threads, but sometimes it feels like some thoughts "don't belong" to any of those threads, and will just clog them unnecessarily. So, I just wanted to make a place for all and any random ( or not so random ) skincare thoughts, notes, stories, and all the other bits and pieces that feel like they "don't belong". Feel free to stop by and make it your personal diary!
Good to hear you are getting results too! But that is too bad about not being able to use up samples because you can't stray away from your brands. I haven't had that issue yet, all I've had is aversion to the way some of them feel going on or absorb, or don't absorb rather.
I am loving my Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil all over again! Such a nice oil. I'll try not to neglect you again.
hmmm maybe I gotta take a look and see if I still have samples of this somewhere... I never got around to trying it. I have so much stuff to try and so many products that need using though. 😄 @lyravega
@lyravega I love that stuff, too!
In fact, I love anything with Seaberry in it, including hair products (like Obliphica) - It is so moisturizing! ❤️
I think we're back in business! Ha!

Does anyone else look forward to your daily/weekly skin care routines? Never in a million years would I have thought I would be the person in my early 20's (or at any age really) excited to look forward to doing my morning/nightly/weekly routines. There's just something nice about being able to unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine, a face mask, and doing a full skin care routine knowing how good it is for you and how wonderful your skin will look in the morning.
One thing I have found to appreciate is that you are never too young to start treating your skin well.
I know exactly what you mean. And, yes. It's my special little ritual, and I enjoy it. Wine, or no wine. 😉
My skin absolutely hates me right now. I was in a car crash about a month ago, and have been pretty down since then so I ignored a lot of my usual skincare stuff. Definitely a mistake because my skin is super congested now. I'm hoping just getting back to a normal-ish routine will fix things. I'm mostly frustrated because it's my own fault my skin is breaking out now.
@skcfan Oh no, I hope you're doing better and are okay after the car crash, how terrible! Stress and lack of sleep will always wreak havoc on my skin, which stresses me out more and just makes the whole cycle even more frustrating. Work has been crazy for the past few weeks and I've also been neglecting my standard routine, and boy is my skin annoyed with me! Tiny stress pimples all over my forehead and chin, blegh.
I know this is easier said then done, but make it a point this weekend or whenever to take some me time and relax with your favorite mask or treatment and hopefully that will help things along 🙂 I finally forced myself to actually tone, exfoliate, treat, and then sheet mask last night (the first time in weeks!) and just taking that little time to myself improved my mood so much. And my skin looked the tinest bit better this morning, which was more encouragement for me to actually do more than splash water on my face and run out the door. Baby steps!
And if all else fails, wine. Wine always helps 🙂
I've always been good about cleansing, moisturizing, and using SPF, but I got super into skin care after I finished college and started switching out my basic Neutrogena products for "big girl" skincare when I got a job. I had a really solid routine with cleanser, toner, eye cream, daytime serum, nighttime retinol, moisturizer, exfoliators, and all sorts of fun masks and treatments lol. I loved researching and trialing new products, and I was lucky that my mostly normal/slightly combination skin pretty much agreed with whatever I tried.
Thennnn I started grad school and money was tight and I just didn't have the time, funds, or energy to devote to my skincare routine. I cut a lot of things out and went back to basically the bare minimum of cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. Now that I'm done with school I'm trying to build my routine back up. I've found that as I've entered my late 20s, my skin has changed a lot and is now much more sensitive and tends to be more dry/combination. I have to be much more careful about bringing new products in, especially things like potent serums. I tried to use a Kiehl's vitamin C serum I used in the past, and my skin flipped out. Because of this I'm sticking to brands like FAB which are geared towards more sensitive skin, and Clinique and Neutrogena which are reliable for me. I miss being able to confidently try new stuff though, and I'm hoping to start trying to branch out and try products from REN, Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, and Kate Somerville which I've always been curious about.
Just bumping this thread as it seems like a good one to discuss skincare things that feel like they don't "belong" in other skincare threads. Anything if it'll help regulate "the traffic"...
I've managed to bleep off my skin, and I don't even know how/with what. Nothing new in my routine. Maybe something at the dentist's yesterday? But, why tiny pimples even all over my forehead?! So weird... Onto the trying to fix it now! Ugh... Don't you just hate it when your skin is doing so friggin fine, and then bam! Some crap out of the blue!
I have noticed this phenomenon in terms of going to the dentist and then having tiny bumps the day after. I had a TON of work done to my teeth in the last year so I had enough visits to notice. My massage therapist said that sometimes the stuff they use gets on your face while they are working. Idk if that's true but you are definitely not the only one it's happened to. Do you have a mild acid toner in your routine somewhere? That usually made the bumps I had go away in a few days.
Just finished my PM routine... I just love how the combo of NUDE Jelly, NUDE Fizzy Enzyme Powder, NUDE Milk Serum, Odacite Time Release Moisturizer and Odacite Cell Energy make my skin look fabulous! I think these 5 products could easily be my "desert island" HG level stuff! What are yours?
