Redness sucks!

I have pretty terrible rosacea and was wondering what products can help combat my extreme redness rather than covering up my issues with makeup.

RE: Redness sucks!

I would recommend The Concentrate from La Mer. It’s great for relieving the redness because it contains the miracle broth. It works as a anti-irritant to give your skin the energy/protein it needs to calm the redness in the skin. It’s relieving the inflammation caused by external stresses like the environment/uv rays etc.

What I found that helps me is the FAB line. I also get an IPL facial once about every 3 months. But I use the face cleanser and the moisturizer from the FAB line. I've tried pretty much everything in their line, but those are the only two I stick with daily.  I'm also on Soolantra (prescription), but it's not for redness, just lesions. I also use masks at least once a week to calm the burn and flush. Moisturize at night and in the morning. A good skincare routine will make a world of difference. Go for unscented and made for sensitive skin.

@mollyrosiee99   this might sound "funny" to some but I suggest seeking out a naturopath that could help you identify your rosacea triggers. Usually for some caffeine, dairy and sugar are a big culprit but everyone is different and knowing what triggers it and eliminating those items from your diet would help diminish that redness. A lot of it is internal and has to do with gut health.  I also found this site with recommendations on natural supplements. Something to read over but definitely discuss with a health care professional before starting anything.

I also have redness and prefer to use natural organic lines for my skin as it reacts and gets red easily. I do know that most of my redness would need laser treatment but some skin care helps calm it down a bit. I would suggest looking into lines like Mahalo, LeahLani, The Body Deli, Odacite. I'm trying out some new products now but so far I like what I have found in these lines. Also some retailers sell sample sizes so you can get a good idea before committing to a FS product.  Here's a good thread for natural skin care in case you want to go that route:  https://community.sephora.com/t5/Ingredient-Sticklers/NATURAL-SKINCARE-TALK/m-p/2777316#M18

I also just wanna say almost no skin care will take away all the redness. Some will help but I think finding your rosacea triggers and eliminating them will be your best bet.

Hope this helps.

RE: Redness sucks!

I too have rosacea. I've been using the korres wild rose sleeping facial at night and it's tamed my redness. My doctors dermatologist and facialist also@suggested vitamin c too. Though each skin is different. As for my cleanser I've used it all and the one that doesn't iritate and actually calm and help with redness is cerave foaming facial cleanser. Try a sample of the korres and test it on a small section to see if you have any reaction first.

Caroline Hirons always says Zelens Vitamin D drops helps her patients with rosacea. Dr Brandt has a cheaper vitamin D as well -- haven't researched it much but might do the same thing?

Re: Redness sucks!

Try an exofilater and a toner. A toner helps even out your skin tone while an exfoliater helps remove dead skin and debry that could be irritating your skin and causing the redness,
