ROSACEA: The Rosy-Cheeked Curse

Would love to hear from those of you who suffer from rosacea, or those of you who have been lucky enough to tame the beast. I’ve gone through many, many products and still have not found a holy grail. REN is the closest I’ve come.

Re: ROSACEA: The Rosy-Cheeked Curse

I had a single V-Beam treatment at my dermo's office & it helped to even out redness.  Vitamin C serum has also worked wonders.  For make-up, Coola Rosiliance BB Cream is my favorite for neutralizing redness on a daily basis.

Re: ROSACEA: The Rosy-Cheeked Curse

Hi @sueser 🙂 I personally have used both the Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream and The Ordinary's Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% to combat the mild redness I have across the top part of my cheeks and nose. I would highly recommend them both. They're staples in my routines.

The Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream, I use in the daytime before makeup. The added green tint helps tone down the redness, too, so it's great for color-correcting. For the Azelaic Acid I use that only at night as it can make my skin itch a little bit but after using it for a few months now that has subsided. I have noticed a reduction in redness especially around my nose, so much so that sometimes I don't need to color correct at all.

Re: ROSACEA: The Rosy-Cheeked Curse

Anything from First Aid Beauty.  It is catered to people with ezcema, rosacea, and other skin sensitivities.  Avoid anything with clay or charcoal, it will cause more flare ups and inflammation in your skin.  Also, Dr. Jart Tiger Grass line as well!

RE: ROSACEA: The Rosy-Cheeked Curse

Hi @sueser. I have suffered from rosacea in the past, which seemed to rear its ugly head after both of my pregnancies. It’s gone now, but I still deal with acne-prone skin. To answer your question, derms will sometimes prescribe something called Finacea for rosacea, which is azelaic acid. It is used to reduce redness and even out the complexion. I currently use Finacea for acne and hyperpigmentation, but you can purchase regular azelaic acid without a script at lower concentrations. I know that The Ordinary brand makes one. I’m not sure about other brands. I hope this helps!

@sueser Although I don't suffer from it, I’ve seen several girls here on BIC mention the Dr. Jart Tiger Grass line has helped their redness. I use it when my skin is irritated and really like it.
