Products that are safe while trying to conceive or pregnant

We are trying to conceive. I have cut out the retinol but want to try to continue with an anti-aging skincare routine. Does anyone know some good products that can help with fine lines and anti-aging as well as brightening and dullness. Also, dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines around the eyes? I am 36. I do not have a lot of fine lines but itโ€™s starting to appear so I am in the โ€œslow-down/preventionโ€ stage. I normally use first aid beauty toner, vitamin c and hyaluronic acid in the morning with glow recipe plum plump moisturizer on the morning and peptide eye cream. At night I keep it simple and use murad renewing eye cream and trentinoin with first aid beauty firming collagen cream. I need suggestions on products and brands. Also, what anti-aging products do you use when you are pregnant is any at all?

Re: Products that are safe while trying to conceive or pregnant

I used mostly ORIGINS products while trying to get pregnant, through my pregnancy, and now while nursing. L'occitane's reset serum is amazing in place of retinol, and Fresh black tea eye cream is great. I tried the plump serum you mentioned and had much better results from Farmacy's version. Edible Beauty has some good options that aren't as effective as retinol but good for pregnancy/nursing safe options. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! Those suggestions are so helpful!

@CaroNY What products are you looking to replace? Some of the products you listed should be fine, like the Plum Plump, so you don't have to start from scratch.

Re: Products that are safe while trying to conceive or pregnant

Iโ€™ve been using trentinoin so that is completely out. But Iโ€™ve also been using BeautyStat universal skin refiner and Beauty Stat eye cream, and Elemis peptide eye cream, peach and Lilly glass skin serum and a hyaluronic acid (which I know is ok). It has no other ingredient but hyaluronic acidโ€ฆalso once a week Iโ€™ve been using peach and Lilly resurfacing face mask with glycolic acid and an assortment of different face masks on rotation. It is all just so confusing. Itโ€™s making me pull my hair out. I donโ€™t want to be crazy about this but I am a little older and donโ€™t want anything to jeopardize me getting pregnant and maintain a healthy pregnancy. I also switch up a lot of my skin care so I am trying to find a set routine with a set group of products for the time thst I am trying to conceive through breastfeeding. One thing that has never changed in my routine is the beautystat universal c skin refiner. I have been using that product for over a year and it has done wonders for my skin and I am crossing my fingers thst I donโ€™t have to leave it behind for a while! LoL but it is what it is.

Re: Products that are safe while trying to conceive or pregnant

My doctor told Me know retinol and salicylic acid. But she did not say anything about glycolic acid. Also know that I can use vitamin C. Itโ€™s not so much the ingredients as it is the brands and products. Thereโ€™s so much to choose from and I am so confused. For the most part I know what Active and ingredients I cannot use. However, it takes forever to look up every little thing on the ingredient list. So Iโ€™m looking for suggestions for specific products bc I am just confusing myself. Iโ€™ve done tons of research and itโ€™s just getting overwhelming so if anyone has favorite products they use or used when TTC or during pregnancy please send it my way. Thank you!

@CaroNY This is something you need to ask your OB-GYN.

I made a few changes to my skincare routine while I was pregnant but the best thing you can do is your own research and ask a professional.  No one wants to be held liable for giving skincare advice and then something happening in your pregnancy or you trying to conceive.  I didn't use retinol or salicylic acid.

Re: Products that are safe while trying to conceive or pregnant

@SportyGirly125 good answer....I don't think this is the best place if you need that type of advice...we are not professionals, just beauty lovers and we don't want to have any responsability of any sort. I read here and there that sometimes people ask for medical treatments/skincare routines, but I always reply: better ask the doctor ๐Ÿ˜Š it's a safer choice.
