Perk Facial with tretinoin?

So I'm planning on doing the Perk facial but I've been using 0.1% tretinoin for about 6 months. My skin is super durable, I've never experience "purging" from the tret, and the tret doesn't dry out my skin (though my skin type tends to be dry naturally). I know you're not supposed to do the Perk facial if you use retinoids, but my skin seems to take anything I throw at it without fail. Do you think it would be okay if I did the facial? If not, why? Also, I should mention I usually use the tret daily but the past week I've only used it about twice (no particular reasoning).

Re: Perk Facial with tretinoin?

I've been getting the Perk facial monthly for the last 4 months, and I've scheduled my sessions post-chemical peels and in combination with using Differin with no issues whatsoever. The settings for the Perk system are a lot more gentle than for traditional HydraFacials, so the mechanical exfoliation system isn't harsh enough to warrant any concerns (But is amazing at getting rid of dead skin flakes).

The first "exfoliating" serum used does contain some gentle acids (Including lactic I believe, at a low concentration) - using acids with retinoids together right would inactivate the ingredients, but if you apply your tretinoin later that night it should be ok. The person doing the treatment will also ask you what you're currently using to make sure everything is kosher. Enjoy the treatment!

@jcahn123Unidentified Call your store and speak with the person who performs the facial. It may be similar to using topicals and waxing, take a week+ off of using topicals completely and informing of use at appointment, so they can adjust as necessary. Just because it seems your skin is durable isn't a guarantee it could get irritated from the facial.

The first vial is latic acid. The performer isn't an esthetician, so the facial isn't as hefty as somewhere else, not to say it won't clear some gunk.

Re: Perk Facial with tretinoin?

@jcahn123 - What is the Perk Facial? Is it a company that gives facials, or are you referring to the in-store facial treatments Sephora now offers?
