New to Skin Care Routine

Hi everyone! I’m new to skincare and looking for help building a simple morning routine. I’ve combination skin, and I’m not sure which cleanser or moisturizer to use. I'd love to hear about your favorite go-to products or any layering tips!

Hey @Ceezyyy! The Balancing Air Foam Facial Cleanser from CeraVe would work for your skin type, as well as the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturizer. The Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Sunscreen Lotion works well and is spf 50.

Hi @Ceezyyy ! Your morning skincare routine could be as simple as wiping your face in the morning with a wet soft cloth and applying sunscreen. Many sunscreens these days contain at least one good moisturizing ingredient (dimethicone, shea butter, squalane, etc.), so they can pull double duty as moisturizers. This depends on your particular skin’s needs, of course; I’m also combo, but in hot weather my skin’s fine with just sunscreen instead of moisturizer. In cold weather, I do need to wear moisturizer under sunscreen. 

I often water-wipe my face in the morning instead of using a cleanser. If I do need an AM face wash (usually just around my eyes), I use either micellar water (usually COSRX Low pH Niacinamide Micellar Cleansing Water, though I’ve also been using SEPHORA COLLECTION Micellar Cleansing Milk with Postbiotics + Niacinamide 6.76 oz / 200 ml some mornings), a cleansing balm (my skin’s favorite is The INKEY List Oat Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 5/150 but your skin might prefer something else), or a very gentle non-lathering cleanser like e.l.f. Pure Skin Cleanser or CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. 

If I need moisturizer under sunscreen, I usually use CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion; that’s my AM & PM moisturizer. I rotate a few different sunscreens throughout the week. Do you already have a sunscreen you like?
