Moisturizer with NO hyaluronic acid for sensitive skin (more details in post!)

I’m looking for a moisturizer for my friend, who has dehydrated and very sensitive skin. He is also 20 and prone to acne and redness.

We tried The Ordinary moisturizer but we realized he is sensitive to hyaluronic acid, along with fragrance. He prefers a cream/gel instead of an oil. Currently, all he does is wash their face sometimes, and he doesn't use a moisturizer.

Any recommendations? Thank you so much, everyone!

Kiehls ultra moisturizer is HA free and very effective.

@Coco1612   Vanicream Moisturizing Cream. Available at your local drugstore or Target (if you’re in the US). Its simple formula is great for sensitive skin, and it contains petrolatum, the most occlusive (water loss preventing) skincare ingredient on the market. Tell him to apply it while his skin is damp (not dripping wet) to seal in hydration instead of dryness. If that cream’s too thick for his liking, try the lotion version instead.

He should also use a broad spectrum sunscreen (at least SPF 30) each day his skin’s exposed to sunlight, all year long, regardless of weather or season. When I’m home later instead of out on my phone, I can look at the INCI lists is a few sunscreen suggestions—though which one’s best depends completely on his personal preferences.

Also, are you sure it’s hyaluronic acid he’s sensitive to? I mean, that’s certainly possible, though it’s usually not that you can’t use any HA; it’s more about minimizing the amount of HA you use. I don’t know which The Ordinary moisturizer he tried, but he could be sensitive to pretty much any other ingredient in it.
